I've just tested it on my Lariat and and the short answer is:

no_key.jpg

Without the fab being around three feet from the Maverick, it can not be put into gear, the gear selector switch is locked. When I walked away from the running truck, it beeped twice too, indicating that the fob is out of range.

I am not certain, if this is not the same with the other models (XL, XLT, etc.) with key fobs, the chances are they would behave the same way.
Yeah I heard it beep but never tested it cool. Thanks

I have a hard time understanding this. The OP said 40% blockage which is only true if you are bad at math. I double checked my view at lunch just now. While certainly there is some blockage, it is not remotely intrusive to me. Anything that might be on either far outside of the rear glass is easily seen through the side mirrors. And now if you have rear seat passengers you have taken away legitimate whiplash protection.
I had a 1980 Chevy Luv. Was rear ended a week after I bought the truck. My head went thru the back window. Luckily I have a hard head. But if that truck had headrests It would not have happened.

  1. You are not to tow anything until you drive the truck 1000 miles.
  2. The manual release for the fuel door is over the driver's side rear wheel
  3. For best performance, Ford recommends using a high-octane fuel with an octane level of 91 or higher.
  4. The oil in your truck coming from the factory is "slime" green.
  5. Your truck has a secret setting for "Police Dark Mode".
  6. Your truck has a secret setting for "Ambulance Mode".
  7. If your infotainment screen freezes, hold down the volume and skip forward button at the same time for 5 seconds and it will reset the screen.
  8. The rear head rests block about 40% of your rear vision via the rear-view mirror. Remove them for a much better rear view.
  9. There is no light in the glove compartment, but the passenger side overhead light will illuminate the interior of the glove box just fine.
  10. The mirror visors have lights.

Bonus:

- The rear cubby storage divider insert can be removed leaving enough space to store your
hitch shank and ball mount. Just wrap them in foam or a towel to keep them from rattling.
And for those who may not have ordered yet or may still be ble to change your order: The drop-in bed liner will prevent you from using the cubbies.

I'm removing mine. I will use them only when someone is sitting in the back seat.

I did my first "break in" oil change at 800 miles. The oil was definitely a strange green color. I didn't tow anything before 1k miles just to be safe but that's just me. Now it would be nice to have tail lights on my tow package. Luckily I just received the letter that parts are now available.
The fix has been available for a month now

Since you are new here I'll fill you in.
This is only a Lariat feature.

XL and XLT require metal keys in the steering wheel, just like grandma's car.

I could be mistaken but it seems like if I close the door the horn honks twice when I walk away. It doesn't if I leave the door open. I've never tried to walk very far away. I assumed it was telling me I didn't shut it off.

OK OP

Please explain:

  1. Your truck has a secret setting for "Police Dark Mode".
  2. Your truck has a secret setting for "Ambulance Mode".

Absolutely not true. I have the Ford Maverick drop-in bed liner and I have access to the storage cubbies on both sides of the bed.

Can something regarding valves coking up and what can be done about it be added to the list?
All EcoBoosts should be sold or traded at about 80,000 miles. Option 2, invest in a walnut farm.

They must have run out of the slime green oil at the factory. Mine was built 05-22-23 and the oil is a neon orange! I thought it was long life antifreeze for a second!!!
The orange is to help blend in with the engine fires.
