Oil change cost - Canada

Just got my first oil change done at a Ford dealer. I only have 1200 km on it, but have always done this for my new vehicles. The kicker is for semi-synthetic (which they told me is what comes in them from the factory), set me back $180.00.
Anyone else want to share their experiences?

I’m pretty sure Hybrid supposed to get full synthetic.

I've always done oil changes on all my vehicles, however I have accumulated over 100,000 Ford Pass reward points over the years from leasing and purchasing Ford vehicles. I'm planning on having the dealership do the first oil change @ 5000mi. Probably have them do oil changes until i run out of points or run out of warranty. I believe the "works" oil change service is around 15,500 points (or $70). One thing I like about the service is that they rotate the tires (something that I did not do myself).

My dealer for Ford Mobile Service charges $99 for the works package. $180 is very expensive.

Haven't changed the Maverick yet, but I just had my 2020 Ford Transit motorhome serviced with "the works" at my Ford dealer for about $75 (less $50 worth of FordPass points).

The OP stated he has 1200 km on his truck suggesting he's in Canada. $180 CA = ~$132 USD.


Still high if only for the oil/filter change and no tire rotation, etc. that comes with the Works package..

That price is definitely in Canadian dollars. No one in their right mind would pay $180 for an oil change on their Maverick.

And the Hybrid calls for full synthetic oil, what they installed was not correct. If it were me, I would want to literally watch them drain that oil and refill to include a new filter which will retain ~3\4 quart of the wrong oil. I would also want that switch over to the correct oil documented on a revised work order from that dealer.

That's expensive. I'n only about 40 min away from you and just paid $136 cdn for "The Works" (oil and filter, top up all fluids, rotate tires, check all safety items, written report, condition and depth of tread on tires, measurement of remaining brake pad thickness) and that was on my 2011 Kia Soul. I just wanted an idea of condition for selling the car when I pickup my Maverick this week.
Yes the Maverick does require full synthetic oil.

That's rather high. I thought my dealer was bad when they charged $124 Cdn with tax for the factory required service (oil change, maintenance check and tire rotation).

Man that Stinks Batman . I have a deal with my dealer if I supply the oil and filter witch I do they charge me $ 12:00 Ful SYN and full SYN filter $ 40:00 Total $ 52 00 . Heck bring it to me I will change it for $ 52:00 and make $12:00 for a half an hours work . Shame on that Dealer for Ripping YOU OFF SANTA will put them on the knotty list .. Sorry they ripped you off .

I think full synthetic is recommended, but shy of required.

I paid with Ford points, but $180 was the cash value. Thanks for everyone’s comments even if most quoted USD, and I’m in CAD it still doesn’t make sense. I’m going to check into the cost, and oil type used and sort this out.

The one and only dealer required add-on when we bought was the "advantage package": 3 oil changes, tire rotations, and multi-point inspections. I believe they charged us $250. We took ours in last week for the first oil change, so we have two more to go.

I don't know how much they normally charge for that package, but there was a big sign saying it was on sale for $120. We still have all our Ford Pass points so, even though I have never taken a car to a dealer for anything but a recall, we'll probably just buy another advantage package when our current one is done.
