I have a certificate for the first oil change. After that I go shopping for the best price. Dealerships are gouging their customers and getting away with it.
I went through this back when I had a diesel Escort wagon. The dealer charged $300 for the oil change and I never went back. I started buying my oil filters from a discount auto parts store and I would take it to the local 10 minute oil change place and let them change the oil.
Unfortunately most of us don’t know how the engine works on a hybrid. If I could figure out where to dispose of the oil I would go back to doing it myself.
Most Walmarts take used oil for free, at least they used to.

He said no charge the first 3 were free! what a suprise. going next week for my secon check check up. I try to have my truck service every 6 months. Just got my first oil change done at a Ford dealer. I only have 1200 km on it, but have always done this for my new vehicles. The kicker is for semi-synthetic (which they told me is what comes in them from the factory), set me back $180.00.
Anyone else want to share their experiences?
Mine was like 100 for the same thing, rotated tires too

I think full synthetic is recommended, but shy of required.
If you want to be technical about it, there is no such thing as 100% synthetic.

Assuming that translates to about $138 US, that's $40 above mine. I was charged $58.13 in parts and $39.99 labor for a total of $98.08. = $133 CND

$180 for what 5-6 quarts of full synthetic oil? I got 2 cases (24 quarts) of Ford full synthetic from my dealer for under $75.
My oil changes cost under $50 bucks at the dealer and include new filter, full synthetic Ford brand oil, they check my tire depth and pressure, check and top off all fluids, check wipers, lights and a bunch of other items.
We like our dealer and have bought several vehicles from him over 20 years.

My oil change reminder came up after a year at ~8,000km (I don't drive a lot). I made an appointment at a local Ford dealer. The next day, I got an email that the dealer cancelled the appointment with no other explanation.

I found a place that would do it next day and it cost me $90 US. If I were home in the US, I would do it myself. It saves time, is cheaper, and better chance that it is done right. However, I am in Germany and I have almost no tools here, no place to work on it, and no idea what to do with the used oil.

I bought the lifetime oil change pkg from my dealer - 4x a year. Not sure what it cost but it's a bargain compared to $180.
