I'm in the same boat looking at competitors. But who else makes a lightweight hybrid pickup under 4000lbs that can be flat towed?I’m in the same boat as you. I also own a Subaru Forester and have been lurking around Maverick and Santa Cruz forums for a while. I’ve been leaning toward Maverick, but it’s just not happening in terms of finding one without a markup, either EB or hybrid. With that said, there are plenty of Santa Cruz on nearby Hyundai lots and it’s very tempting!
Go for it. Odds are good you’ll be waiting until 2024. I also own a Forester.I’m in the same boat as you. The first week of the month you blast out 10k (or close to it) of scheduled retail orders for the whole month (customer orders). Then the following weeks Thursdays emails are just the few hundred gap fillers, would be fleet vehicles and then last would be dealers stock. If it turns out there are constraints on a bunch of vehicles you keep picking out the retail orders that can be built...aka bypassing the dealership allocations. if dealership only gets 1 a month and already used it, yet they have a maverick order that can be built and the Ford algorithm pops up that dealership (like picking dealership names out of hats), if it has a vehicle it can build, it will build it no matter if that dealership used their 1 for the month already...to keep the factory building.Let me understand this master plan...you say do FIFO for customer orders for one week then three weeks of stock and fleet orders (fleet are customer orders) instead of doing all customer orders before stock orders. In what world is that better?
Could be. Definitely seems as though they are producing more than 35% hybrids. Maybe as high as 50% hybrids. But something is still constraining production. Back in September 22 they produced over 10K Mavericks. But now, they have not been able to produced anywhere near that number. Maybe it's the hitches since Ford previously said 66% of orders have a hitch. But you would think they would just produce more non-hitch Mavericks.I personally don't think we're making enough of the fact that hybrid has not appeared on the constraint list for some time now. I've heard some people justify it as "Ford logic" , they don't have to list it as a constraint because it's a given, but that ignores their previous history. Up until about a month ago they had always listed it as a constraint, and just stopped. Could of course be my wishful thinking, but I'm really wondering if Ford hasn't resolved their hybrid issue, figured out some way to get increased supply?
Yes, eventually. Ford is actually looking for dealers to put in Tremor stock orders because they have so few retail orders. But they still only make up 8% of orders during a given week.Do you think my Lariat Tremor will be scheduled? I thought hybrids would be only issue but I’m losing hope slowly. I’m fine with waiting until Fall I just really want it built this model year!
You rock man! You have been so informative on all of these threads! Appreciate the response. Now time to try my best and be patient haha.Yes, eventually. It's not paranoia if they're really out to get you.Really? Do you have proof Ford is balancing "DEI training" over practicing growing skills in how to produce vehicles? Or are you just injecting paranoid political rhetoric into the discussion because it makes you feel good?
The long wait times suck no doubt, but is hardly confined to Ford. Without arguing about reasons for it I'll offer up C8 Corvette and the poster child of delays Cybertruck as examples of other brands having difficulties meeting demand amid production delays. It's all relative and in the end us consumers always maintain the ability to take our business elsewhereI forgot that dealerships were generally requiring a hold/down payment, you got me there. But in my eyes, those who who ordered are sold vehicles (yes a few may back out prior to delivery)...and yet dealership stock COULD be sold eventually. I drive past a Ford Dealership daily and the same 6 or so bronco sports have been sitting in the same spots for going on 2 weeks now. Those are supposedly hot sellers too, yet at least in my area, they are just sitting. So if Ford pumped out the customer orders first, those sitting...could have been allocated to buyers waiting...vs just sitting on lots waiting to be sold.
And to be honest... if Ford is having struggles with the current system, I wouldnt mind them taking a stab at something new/changes to see if it in fact ends up being better. Could it be worse....sure, but 500-600+days wait time...seems like something could be fixed and cant be much worse. I mean hell, they just made this whole Team Blue / Team Model E / ICE change, where if dealerships want to sell EVs they have to make huge commitments and upgrades. Nobody knows how that is going to play out and if it will be a success or failure, but if they wanted to make a change, it had to start/happen at some point. just my $0.02
I'd bet the take rate on Tremor's would be higher if they offered the 4K towing package on it.Yes, eventually. Ford is actually looking for dealers to put in Tremor stock orders because they have so few retail orders. But they still only make up 8% of orders during a given week.
Yeah. I would have done both myself.I'd bet the take rate on Tremor's would be higher if they offered the 4K towing package on it.
