Hybrid Shudder from electric to ICE (video uploaded)

It sounds like the engine is lugging since it wasn't shutoff during the coast/charge cycle. Like a manual left in gear.

I just had this happen for the first time two days ago. I believe Mi Esposa also experienced this. So far, during braking only.

Theres a damper defect here and its going to be a large problem.

Mine does it when i let off the accerator, regen kicks in for 1-2 secs and then i get 4-5 shudder waves like a bad clutch or out of balance.

Mine DID NOT do this new not until about 5000m has it gotten bad, at 10000m it is very noticeable and does it about 50% of the time. Today noticed a little different symptoms like the disengagement issue. I am getting close to stop driving it because its got to be doing damage and i cringe when it happens. It sends driveline vibrations all through the vehicle.

I am hoping it can be repaired with a flash, however i really believe its the damper/flywheel.

I notice a surge sometimes at slow speed when coming to a stop, that makes me have to push on the brakes harder and makes for a less than smooth stop. A few times this has been accompanied with some minor shuddering. I was thinking it was switching from ICE to electric but??

Did you end up taking it in to your service department? If so, what did they say about the issue?

That’s 100% not normal. Our hybrid is smooth like butter. Wouldn’t even notice it if you couldn’t hear the engine kick on. Same was true in our former 2020 escape hybrid.

Unfortunately I decide not to do. I don't want my brand new truck to be torn apart. I did however notice less occurrence ever since but sometimes the shudder is till there.

I haven't seen anyone discussing this problem: I observe that when I am in all electric mode cruising and then push the break pedal, in some occasion the ICE engine will kick on, and then the whole vehicle shakes (not sure what's causing it but the shaking is loud and you can easily feel it) until it comes to a full stop, and then everything goes back to normal. I have encountered this problem for about 5 times.
Does anyone else see this issue while driving their hybrid? Thanks

This happened to me today! Finally found your video of the exact hood shake/ serious vibration. My XL hybrid is like a week old and I’ve babied it. Scared the shit out of me. I hope it hasn’t damaged something inside. Did you find a solution that has lasted?

Damn… I might have to do the same until ford figures out a solution. I’m the same as you, I really don’t want a truck with a couple hundred kms on it getting ripped apart unless a perfect solution is known.
