My OEM battery was replaced with another motorcraft battery under warranty, but that did nothing to fix my deep sleep. It went through months of additional diagnostics with no solution. I replaced my battery with an aftermarket AGM battery 2 years ago and haven’t had a single issue since.

I did have to remove the plastic panels to install the battery. I did not cut out any tabs. There was a metal tab on the floor where the battery sits that I had to bend slightly to fit the battery. I believe it could be bent back to its original place to reinstall the OEM size battery, if needed.

Did you also have this same issue and get it fixed by just replacing the thermostat? Or were you just referring to the OPs comment about it being diagnosed as the thermostat? I’m asking because I found another thread where the thermostat and temp sensor needed to be replaced to fix this issue.

I recognize your name so I apologize if I’ve asked this before, but did you update the battery settings with forscan when putting the new AGM battery in? If so, do you remember what they were before you changed them, and do you remember what you set them to?

Thanks for sharing all those details. I’ll plan on ordering a Forscan adapter so that I can use the same settings as you. It’s unfortunate to see your Escape SOC getting down around 50%. Hopefully that’s not a sign of an issue.

Does the plastic cover still fit on top of the battery after you installed the AGM battery? I noticed that you had to increase to an H4 size battery since they don’t make a T4 battery in AGM.
