Add me to the list. Just got the same email 12/19 to 1/2. I knew this was going to happen. Ford just continues to disappoint. After all this and my recent issues with my local ford dealer service department I am ready for this to be my last ford ever.
Don't be disappointed just yet. I originally got email that I was scheduled the week of 12/19. The week of Thanksgiving I got email stating moved to week of 1/2, but then following week I was moved back to week of 12/19.

I remember when I got my first (of about ten) "Your production has been delayed email"...

Not much.
  1. Hitch constraint is the wiring, not the hitch itself. (Bodes well for 4K?)
  2. XL/XLT will get one dumb key... unless you order remote start with XLT Lux, in which both will have keyless entry. Does not impact Lariat due to the intelligent entry system.
  3. Midwest region seemed to be the primary focus of scheduling last week, so unlikely they see much activity this week. He has nothing previewing and almost everything marked as "NSP," whatever that means.
Most of the rest are things we knew already. He talks about more than Maverick, which can be informative. For instance, they are listing the B&O as an optional "leave off" for many models. While the Maverick is not one of them, it does seem to indicate Ford is preparing for the possibility of shortages and want to keep the factory moving.
The “dumb” key has obviously been rumored for a while. I’m an XLT Lux without remote start, so it sounds like I’ll be affected. Have we heard anything about whether or not ford will give us another “smart” key in the future when parts are available?

1. What I got out of his statement for the hitch was related to aftermarket hitches and the issues with the wiring they've encountered. He even backpedaled on his "#ditch the hitch" campaign.
3. NSP = Not Scheduled for Production

I left off remote start on my XLT because I'd never use it, but now I'm wondering if I shouldn't add it. I like having a spare key with keyless entry. If I have to replace one that takes a dump, I'm sure it'll cost a lot more than the $170 remote start option to get a replacement fob with keyless buttons.

The date is only part of the problem, ford also not really prioritizing 22 orders over 23 as I can see all over the forums. My dealer also incorrectly converted my 22 order to 23 and I am missing my 4k tow package. I didn't catch it until it was already scheduled to be built.

Ford basically has this market segment all to themselves since the DCT in the Santa Cruz is problematic to say the every least. I just wanted a small, efficient, and easy to drive truck to do some light camping and take my mountain bike places. Ford has people cornered here and they know it and by the time GM, Toyota or Ram has an actual competitor to market people will have probably waited 3-4 years since the introduction of the maverick.

Can anyone verify if you change something to your order it will pushed to the back of the line? My dealer states that if I was to change anything on my order it will be canceled.
I made one change a month or so ago (MY 23). My dealer said it would not affect schedule.

Something Tim mentioned in passing is the remote start was a constraint. Now, he was vague as to what exactly he was talking about, but as the topic was related to the Maverick, it could be related to that. He seemed to indicate he knew immediately it was a constrained item. So, your dealer should know.

I am in the same boat, 10/9/2021 cancelled order. My dealer said he had more allocations for January than the number that were actually scheduled. He said he has no clue why my order was passed over. The only thing I can think of is constraints...If he had the allocations and I have the priority, don't know what else it could be.
@fordvideoguy when they give you allocations for Mavericks do they specify how many you get for ecoboost and how many for hybrid?

I think the real risk to Ford’s potential and existing customer base for the Ford Maverick and other Ford products is Toyota and its Tacoma pickup which will be brought out as a hybrid and eventually a plug-in hybrid. No doubt a Tacoma hybrid would be much pricier than a Maverick hybrid, but Ford’s custs/potential custs may be willing to pay a lot more for perceived quality from Toyota and the fact that the Tacoma is a bigger truck (but not too much bigger).

Ford’s CEO needs to stand in front of a Ford Maverick and promise he will fix production problems with the supply chain of the Mav hybrid AND recommit Ford to hybrids. He also needs to figure out how to make money from hybrids.

Toyota is still betting on hybrids. Ford, using Toyota hybrid technology, should make the same bet. And Ford should get to plug-in hybrids asap. (Ford has experience with plug-in hybrids — Ford CMax for example.)

Finally, Ford should not think it has lots of time to address its Maverick problems and recommit to hybrids. No doubt GM and Ram will be slow to come out with a Mav competitor, BUT Toyota will not be slow.

These are my thoughts and I’m sticking to them.
