When I heard Tim talking about it, I immediately sent an email to my salesman to add it. I was planning on getting it done aftermarket but if they have more than enough capacity I don't see the downside. Maybe he's still a little gun shy since it was such a constraint on the '22?
It's worth noting that it was such a significant constraint for MY22 builds that they first switched existing Lux builds from spray-in to drop-in, and ultimately completely removed it from the Lux packages for MY23. Given the multitude of constraint issues, the safe bet is to leave it off your order and add it later.

And for those who have not already waited a year and been following MTC, with just-in-time manufacturing and supply chain issues, any option can become a constraint at any time during the next year.

Yes but it matters within the dealership. I have my order with LM so they have a decent amount of allocations and with my priority being higher than new orders I should be able to get it built with SIBL now that it is under capacity. That's my theory anyways as nothing else in my order is over capacity.
What is LM's amount of allocations?

Also, that number is only half the story, number of orders is equally important. Our family ordered from a tiny dealer that only has 4 allocations for the year, but the dealer only received 4 total orders. Our 3 already have VINs and are scheduled for December.

But you had no idea how many allocations or orders they would end up with when you ordered. You were surely in the right place at the right time.

So then is it true or a fact that ordering from the smaller dealer can make a difference my dealer has 60 orders.
I read , on anon , but I can’t seem to comprehend this allocation thing or the round robin method of selecting, if this true

Mostly correct. I had a pretty good guess that they would have very few (if any) allocations. But I also knew that they would have very few (if any) other orders. Kind of funny actually, I am in a major metro area, with no less than 20 high volume Ford dealers within a 40 mile radius. I spoke with probably 30 of them about ordering, and most of them already had a list of dozens of people to call when banks opened up. So I stopped in at the dealer right by my house, which is pretty much just fleet/heavy trucks/commercial sales. They have never sold Ford cars, and they don't even have a real show lot, just a bunch of white Transits waiting to go to utility companies and municipalities. Anyways, I popped in and said "I know you guys are not really a retail dealer, but could you order me a Maverick or two?'' They said yep and that was that.

I believe they got like 63 for the first month and they only had like 100 roll overs? I can't remember exact numbers but he mentioned them a couple months ago. The canceled 22's might slip in front of me but I still have priority over new 23' which they got a lot of. I'm thinking I will get scheduled by March if my theory holds. So that's I'm thinking of adding SIBL. If it delays a month whatever.

According to Tim this evening:

68% Hybrid orders compared to 35% capacity.
32% EB orders compared to 65% capacity.

Other than the hybrid, standalone tow hitch and splashguards seem to be the items over build capacity.

XLT Lux = 30% capacity but 25% orders.
Lariat Lux = 25% capacity but 20% orders.
Tremor = 8% capacity but 2% orders

Appearance packages are all under capacity constraints compared to orders:

BAP = 10% capacity but 8% orders.
TAP = 3% capacity but "hardly anyone ordered it"

CP360 = 60% capacity but 50% orders
CP360A = 25% capacity but 8% orders.
SIBL = 39% capacity but 17% orders (Tim says leave off)
HBL = 25% capacity but 5% orders.
Moonroof = 38% capacity but 13% orders.
Hitch = 45% capacity but 65% orders... includes any packages that includes hitch.

Keep in mind those hitches are likely also on a lot of the hybrids that mathematically cannot be built. So, I don't know if I would remove the hitch. The hybrid would likely be the larger constraint than the hitch.

Note: this has been updated as more information had been requested.
Where did all this information come from?
