Do you have a build sheet? If so it should have an order number. Get on with Ford chat, give them the order number and sales number (that's the dealer). They'll tell you
Guy from the dealer called me about 9pm. He made sure everything was correct. Got an email from Ford an hour later that it is confirmed. Only thing that needs to be changed now is the color. He had to order black as it wouldn't accept Atlas blue. The color will be updated soon.

As we attempted to enter submitted orders into the COVP portal today we were getting the message "Ford COVP Sales Match Program and Appeals have been suspended, additional information will be communicated soon." So don't be surprised if your dealer does not have information or confirmation on that yet.

One of my co-workers went to his local dealer to place his order and the sales person told him that he would place his order right away. It turned out that the salesman took the build details and deposit and added it to a spreadsheet.

There is only one guy at that dealership who does the WBDO entries and he is working his way through that spreadsheet. They told him it will be a few days until he gets the confirmation email. Also they have been taking pre-orders for the last few months so aside from 2022 carry overs all those pre-orders will be ahead.

The salesman was doing his usual BS and acting all knowledgeable about the ordering process and said that he ordered a 2022 himself so knows all about it. Later my co-worker asked the salesman how he is enjoying his Maverick and the sales guy says oh I never actually bought it. I sold it to a customer with ADM.

Apparently most of the employees placed an order for a 2022 but didn't actually buy it. They were all sold to customers with ADMs. The orders were COVP approved since there was a name and DL match.

I wonder if that will affect their 2023 allocations. That will suck for those trying to get a 2023 from them if the dealer gets barely any allocations due to not selling the Mavericks to the original person who ordered it.

Ford needs a better way to handle this.

I'm willing to bet that some of the shady dealers did not COVP the 2022 customer orders on purpose so that they would be waiting forever. Then when the trucks that the employees ordered came in they called up the customers to see if they were desperate enough to take it with an ADM since there was no signs of movement on their order.

From my understanding:

ROVP = Proves the order is for a person and not the dealer fluffing the books.
COVP = Proving the person is real.

I'm not entirely sure how you have one without the other, but that is what I have been able to gather through my weekend of research.

The fact Ford used both in the one email in conflicting statements doesn't help.
I received both my email confirmation emails, I'm assuming the dealer is using my past photo of my license for the COVP. I ordered a 22 ( and have it )it would be interesting to see how many people ordered a 23.

If you got an email from ford in the last few days, then just be sure to hound, I mean, work with your dealer to get Rovp locked in
My dealer confirmed that he did the COVP on my order, and I received the Ford Order Confirmation email as well, does this mean I'm good? I'm assuming ROVP is the same thing as COVP

Hey guys new to all this. So if you got a confirmation for your order from Ford does that mean that the dealership did the required ROVP form. I gave them my ID and everything. Or do they still need to do it. Don't want to mess this up thanks everyone

Not sure- nobody seems to know as there many the rules floating around.

Covp vs Rovp that is the question…. What are they and how do they differ

I hopped on at 5:15 last night, took about 15 minutes of waiting, 5 minutes of chatting, and I have confirmation my orders good and all I need to do is wait. Super easy guys

I'm not saying I like this, because I don't, but how is this any different than a person who orders one just to flip it? At least with the adm, a customer gets it for about $5,000 more new. When someone orders it to flip it, the customer's paying about $10,000 more for used.

Also your scenario of shady dealers, I wouldn't put anything past some of them. But I don't think they would do what you propose because that would be one less vehicle to sell. I think they'd order the customer's order as stock, get the salesman order, and I have two vehicles to sell. Or just not contact the customer when their vehicle came in and sell it out right.

Unfortunately, there is not much that Ford Chat (or calling the Ford number) can tell you. Over the last year I have contacted Ford Chat roughly a dozen times. Basically they can confirm 3 things: 1) If you are still in "order processing" or have a VIN, 2) If your order is "clean" (usually they will say your order is "Unschedules: Clean" or in the worst case may say "Unscheduled: Balanced Out", and 3) What your current Priority Code is. They cannot tell you if a COVP/ROVP has been approved or any other details about your order. They have a pre-canned response of "Thank you for your new Ford order. Please contact your local dealer for details.". While they can confirm that you dealer has entered an order into the Ford WBDO system, they cannot tell you if that order is actually "good" or not.

I just text my dealer and they confirmed all of their orders are submitted via COVP.

That's what's confusing - Ford says the COVP isn't required, but the ROVP is. So if a dealer has submitted the COVP, is it all good, or does the dealer need to do something else in the system to make it ROVP instead?
