Ordered my hybrid xlt, lux, copilot360 8-26-2021. Arrived & purchased 7-22-2022. Everything seemed great. On 7-30-2022 received ford pass msg “remote features disabled to preserve battery” (after driving 160 mi the previous day). Started & drove normally, thought it was a glitch. On 8-10-2022 drove it 14 miles and parked. Tried to start it 2 hours later and got dash msg “stop safely now “ with check engine and battery warning lights. Waited 15 minutes and tried again, same. Repeated this for an hour then used ford pass on phone to get towed to dealer. When the tow arrived 30 minutes later it started and acted normally so I drove home without issue. Had dealer do a 12v battery check on 8-12 and it was fine. Scheduled a diagnostic test for 8-22 (earliest I could get). Bad battery harness? We’ll see. I’ll update with what I find out.

It is very likely the harness issue.

Wow that is a recent build. Most of the ones having the issue seem to be built last year....

Update. Dealer service saw two codes: POC78 & P1A10. Performed pin point test but all passed. Not sure if they ‘wiggled’ the suspect battery harness connection under the hood during testing. Customer experience agent said they would ‘initiate a hotline’ with service, but don’t know if anything has happened yet. Truck at dealer since 8-22 Monday.

This makes me nervous that new builds are being built exactly like the old builds with possibly no improvements being made to the harness. Our hybrid is supposed to be built in mid-September so we'll see what happens.

Not necessarily. OP didn't mention the 12V electronics being completely dead. And the codes are related to the HVB system: that the high-voltage precharge capacitor took too long to charge and the HV batt has been commanded disabled.

Possible causes for both my codes include problems with related electrical harnesses and poor/loose electrical connections. High voltage or low voltage I just want it fixed.

Update. Picked up the truck. Mechanic said ford contacted them and asked what they found and he told them that they did the pin test and found nothing. I was hoping ford would help the mechanic go through a methodical process to id the issue but no, after the pin test the truck just sat in their parking lot. They think it’s a one time glitch. I guess we’ll see. Bought a jump box to ease my mind while I wait for the next shoe to drop.

If your in the Atlanta, Georgia area, I have great news!

Here is the dealer that you want to go to:

https://www.howellford.com/

They fixed the faulty connector in approx. 3 to 4 hours while we waited. While other dealers made excuses, denied there was a harness problem, did not return phone calls, were generally rude and simply did not care, Billy Howell Ford was impressive and got the job done.

Their service department and service director are first class, 5 stars, all the way!

Please see the attached pic showing repair. Unfortunately, I have not had a chance to see exactly where this connection is in the engine compartment. I Will try and update later where the exact location is.

This fix makes the most sense since it has not been confirmed if harnesses are still being manufactured the same way with the same problem.

What’s the chance the dealer would tell you what that connector is or how to get one? Looks like a better option than trying to crimp in tight quarters.

What is the appropriate jump box for the Maverick? On Amazon I see boxes from $75 to well over $400.
