Stock 6R80 in my Mustang has been pretty bullet proof even after it had a performance Converter installed and the engine was making 600 wtq.

You might be fortunate & it's only an electronic problem, a module or sensor need to be replaced.
Yeah, true. New auto transmissions have a lot of electronic controls and are susceptible to electronic gremlins.

Holy shit... 2-3mo or straight up no appointments... Amazing.

My dealers finance guy said Ford doesn't provide them, so get an extended warranty. For $13K (60mo/60k-mi) I said I'll self insure. I don't know how truthful he was, I wasn't about to spend that much. I also have a project car I can easily use if my Maverick breaks. Plus my sister stores her car at my house as she lives in the city, so I can drive a modern car if I want/need.
You can get a Ford ESP with first day rental from Flood Ford - $860 for 6/60/0. - cheaper if you choose a deductible. So pretty good markup.

You can also reach out to Granger here - they had a thread offering $50 below Flood:

https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...-50-over-dealer-cost-from-granger-ford.11954/

Flood also allows you to apply Ford Pass points not sure about Granger.

Granted it is for only for 10 days, but...

Even when the dealer looks at it , don’t hold your breath. My tranny went within the 1st tank of fuel. Dealer says new trans ordered but not ETA available on it… not great on a 5 day old truck . Obviously Ford has done major quality control issues on the maverick
It's not uncommon right now to see a backorder and no ETA on the parts expected availability. We currently have at least 7 Focuses in need of transmission modules and once again there is no ETA on when we'll see them. And I will also add, there is little to no logic in how it is they're received, either. We've had vehicles sitting for six months, and one arrives for a customer whose vehicle has been down three weeks. And we don't treat them differently when ordering them, or addressing Ford through internal channels to expedite their delivery. It's currently just how things are, and it sucks; but it's part of what happens when you don't produce the parts in house and contract out via outside suppliers.

I've had transmission jobs where 75% or more of the parts are available, but a handful have no ETA available. Under warranty, and even as a customer pay job, you can purchase those parts from another dealer anywhere and have them shipped to your store. If it's warranty, Ford will reimburse you the additional cost and shipping too, and I suggest if the customer is paying, they might happily pay the shipping if it means getting their vehicle back in weeks vs. months. As a result, you might be able to cut a repair with no reasonable timeframe down to a matter of weeks -- the customer benefits and it clears up a bottleneck in your service department.

While likely all true , it doesn’t build customer confidence when truck a few days old Likely sits weeks or possibly much longer waiting for major parts. There seems to be quite a few transmission issues going on now , I’m Sure Ford will be or is looking into why.seems like the maverick is still in high demand which is good for those of us who will have have one for sale. Thanks for the tip on possibly paying the freight to speed up part delivery , I’ll look into that for sure

Another recall perhaps?

Inexcusable that Ford will not automatically provide a loaner car for warranty work. Someone making a $500-$700 per month car payment and then the same for a rental.

So you have no intention of buying a Ford with auto tranny or a Ford Maverick ever as it will never be offered in stick. So tell me why are you on this Forum? You just come here to throw shade? Are you a shill for Chevy?

I agree with you on all of that. I'm no fan of transverse trans or e-cvts to many electrical componants ready to fail. The 8 speed transverse is a colaberation with GM you'd think the two big mfg would have worked out the kinks 10yrs later.
Unfortunatly if you want high mpg you won't achive that with manual trans so I think they are past tech at this point. I'm a stick man myself and I would have gotten one if I could. Same with manuel locks windows and seats. My biggest complaint is everything is powered including the e brake which is no longer an e brake but an electric parking brake more prone to failing. No good if you need it in an emergency.

I'm with you on the small actual trucks. I liked the Courier and the original Ranger. My little brother had an isuzu Pup that would't die. Same with the Chevy Luv. I would prefer a truck with a 6 or 8 bed not suv hybred veh.
If you need a new truck that's affordable and not a gas guzzler we're stuck with what's out there.
Glad you're not a shill. :D

Yeah no kidding, I just switched dealers since my previous one kept screwing things up on my truck and the new dealership only covers $40 for a rental…. I just bout a brand new truck and I have to pay for the rental? C’mon @FordMotorCompany this is just ridiculous customer service 🙄

I feel sorry for anyone paying $700 a month on a maverick.
