Yeah no such luck here. I have a second project car so I'll probably use that, even though I got my maverick because it was too unreliable.

Actually the first dealership I called was the shortest at a month. Every other place was either 2-3 months just to look at it, or outright not taking appointments at the moment. So much for service huh. This is the Seattle area and I called everyone within 30 miles of me.
Did you call Evergreen?

If you so desire, you can do the following. Have the truck towed to your preferred dealership. Inform them that the time spent there waiting on them will count toward the time necessary for a lemon law claim. (Note, I would verify this with a lawyer first). I would also inform Ford Motor Company of this as well, since they are the ones who would be forced to buy it back.

I might consider this, especially if I have any issues with my second car. I have one appointment already scheduled with a local Ford dealer so I have record of when this started + forum. One month is pretty long and I understand they can't do much about demand, but I'm worried trying to diagnose and repair it will take even longer. I wish they would at least diagnose it and start getting parts ordered instead of waiting a month to even see it.

Are these trannies a series of clutches or a CV? My 2010 Jeep Patriot CV did that at about 120000. Got a bit "slippery" I thought, went into gear kinda clunky, and then, one time, let off the gas and when I stepped on it again it shuddered like crazy! Apparently the "chain" between the two drums was chattering a bunch. Needless to say the Jeep went bye-bye since it was not overhaulable and only replaceable.

It's an 8 speed auto. I was really happy with it until now.

I would also be concerned about that redlining of the engine. Make sure your mechanic is aware of it and that it is noted in the work order. May not be an issue now but could very well be one down the road.

If you choose to (or need to) have it towed to a dealer, contact Ford roadside assistance. Contact info at the website below or via the FordPass app if you have it. Covered for 5 years/60,000 mi.

Only problem with a lemon law claim is that you then have to find a replacement which isn't getting much easier these days. So just keep that in mind.

Hopefully you're able to find a dealer to get you in sooner but everyone claims to be massively backlogged these days, even for vehicles that are inoperable.

They're pretty far, but I checked just in case and they said 1.5 months
Reach out to @Ford Motor Company on here through a message right now. They've been great to me in getting me scheduled. You should not wait 1-1.5 months to get this scheduled.

Welp. My transmission is dead I think. I was coming back home from camping and driving at a steady 75 using cruise control (speed limit is 70 out here). Noticed the transmission was holding a low gear for some reason as I was going down hill, and when the grade went flat the truck started slowing down which I thought weird, cruise control is still on. After slowing to 70 it suddenly rev'd up to redline for a split second like it got popped into neutral. I got the little wrench icon and the truck said to service soon. It seemed to work fine for a bit after that and I was fairly close to home so I decided to limp it. It was doing ok but once I came to a stop for my exit, it shuddered a lot trying to move like driving a manual with a really grippy clutch. It got worse from there and started slipping under almost any amount of power and hunting for gears so I babied the throttle and limped it home. It did ok when the rpms were below 2k rpm so that's where I stayed and accelerated extremely slowly.

It acted a lot like there was no transmission fluid in it, but the underside was dry from what I could see. I haven't abused the truck, it wasn't hot out, and have only towed twice with this thing. It gave no indication of failing besides those last dozen or so miles. Don't off-road it, don't drive in sand, just gravel roads a few times getting to camp. Completely stock.

RIP, it'll take a month just to get an appointment and probably another couple months for them to figure it out and get parts. Why me...
FWIW I would contact the Regional Ford Customer Relations office and request they get you a loaner car until they are able to take and fix your new Maverick under warranty. That will at least time stamp your loss of use...

Just out of curiosity, how many miles are on it? I have the same engine and was wondering how much wear it took to wear out the transmission so quickly. I heard of someones tranny going out at just 2,000 miles. Makes me wonder.
Lol for a tranny under a year old the failure will never be due to wear. Never fear, if you got a normal tranny without any human/computer error, your tranny will be fine. And theres nothing he could tell you that would indicate whether you got a lemon one or not lol

I would think if it's not driveable (safely/reliable) bumper to bumper warranty, that it should be up for ford provided loaner/rental car?

Holy shit... 2-3mo or straight up no appointments... Amazing.

My dealers finance guy said Ford doesn't provide them, so get an extended warranty. For $13K (60mo/60k-mi) I said I'll self insure. I don't know how truthful he was, I wasn't about to spend that much. I also have a project car I can easily use if my Maverick breaks. Plus my sister stores her car at my house as she lives in the city, so I can drive a modern car if I want/need.
