I have had mine do a weird chatter. Like a quick pumping of the brakes. I was going to turn left on a green but light changed to red. So applied brakes faster then normal. It was like it couldn't make up its mind. Only happened once. Going to mention it at next service. Just so documented.

Also had a few weird stops like described here. Not to bad but like brakes catch hard for a split few seconds. Again at low speeds.

Sorry I'm piggybacking on this message but I have same issue and here is my vin: 3FTTW8E35NRA42815 Future Ford Roseville, Ca. and it'll be interesting to see who else is having this issue
I actually haven't had this issue anymore... It seems to have sorted itself out after the first week!

Many of us have experienced this issue. It was also discussed in another thread. At very low speed, (<5mph) the brakes will grab very hard when you try to gently come to a stop. A thud is heard many times, which sounds like the regenerative braking locking up. Nothing from Ford yet on this issue to my knowledge. I'm worried that someone will rear end me due to my abrupt stopping at times!
We all need to file a complaint to HTSB (I did) to get Ford motivated to come up with a Fix

What you are describing is ABS activation. Totally normal.

I’m at 1000 mi. My brakes sometimes grab while easing forward at low speed after stopping (when moving up at a stop sign or pulling into my garage). Today for the first time I also heard and felt a “clunk”. My wife looked at me and said what was that? It happened one more time on the trip home. My wife’s 2015 Ford Fusion hybrid has 100,000 mi and has never had any problems and the braking is smooth & linear.

Hi there. This braking concern doesn’t sound like something we want you to experience with your Maverick. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you on my end.
Is there an actual fix out there? I would hate to take out my time, bring car to the dealership for 2-3 days to be told "we cannot find anything wrong".

This thread is full of the EXACT issues I am experiencing.

Getting the occasional "clunk" also.

I have had the same issue since I got my XLT Hybrid back in March. It’s still doing it after close to 6k miles. We need a fix for this problem.

Same here. It can be rather jolting when it happens, and it isn't all the time. Also I have noticed that if I turn off the Maverick and wait inside of it for a while, sometimes when I step on the brake pad before turning the key to on, the pedal acts as if it is hard and requires extra effort and it feels like something is preventing it from moving down. If I continue to push on it, it is as if something breaks loose from holding it back and then it is okay. Once again, does not do this all the time. Very weird.

Took delivery in Feb 2022, noticed the braking symptoms right away. Thought we just needed some time to get used to. The braking is so random. Drove it in regular mode, eco mode, summer, winter, rain, and sun, can’t seem to pinpoint a certain condition where it’s better or worse. Sometimes it’s good, but then there are times when I even get motion sickness from it. 😫
Driving it in heavy traffic becomes a no no for us due to this issue. Love the truck but something has to be done about the break!

Hello Ford,
Do you have a fix for this or not? You sent me down a rabbit hole, there is no fix that the service people know about, Ford hasn't mentioned the problem to them. Do you have concrete plan of action for this?
Randaddio,
from the other string...
Plus with no Recall from Ford the Dealers really won't try to figure out what the problem is as no Recall no reimbursement from Ford

Lauriet hybrid with exact same issue. The clunk and then harsh stop is concerning. I won't drive on ramps to change my oil because I can't trust the braking.
