Update
Went to the dealer today for my vibration. Road tested, load forced balanced tires: 1st tire 10lbs. 2nd tire 20lbs. 3rd tire 27lbs . 4th tire 36lbs. Needless to say replaced 3 tires and balanced. Much better ride. still some vibration. A bit hard to road test in pouring rain. will drive it for a few weeks and see what happens . Still feels like an axle is bad. May need to let get worse , only has 1300 miles.
They did recall 24s27 BCM update for taillights. No Problems after reprograming.
Thanks for the update Mark. Eerily similar testing procedure and fix to my issue. Also with similar results (some vibration still present). We also had similar symptoms but yet definitive different symptoms as well.
I have taken same approach…ie wait til it gets worse to nail down diagnose and hope it doesn’t get worse. Obviously not the best position to be in.
I have put a number of miles on since the ‘fix’ of (2nd) tire change and although initial vibration has improved there is still the same mild vibration around 75mph but for me ‘livable’ and not overly concerning.
Any changes I will update as well and would appreciate your updates if you learn anything new too!
Thanks!

Well, I have been having the same issue when I got my new truck. Initially, I was babying the truck for the first 1000 miles. Later, it became obvious to me there is some vibration as I accelerate above 60 mph. Sometimes, I can feel it at lower speed.
When I took my truck to the dealer, they did a road force balancing. At low speeds it feels better but the vibration seems more at higher speeds. Took it for the second time and left overnight. They said they checked but did not find anything out of normal.
My truck still vibrates... very disappointed with the dealer services.. doesn't Ford pay them for such jobs?
I think either its the left CV axle, or motor mount or the tire/rim itself?
Wondering what recourse to take now.

Anyone else feel a vibration/shimmy at highway speeds over 70 very noticeable at 80 plus??? Feels like a bad alignment/shake/imbalanced wheel? Driving me nuts. Had it in for service 2x on this at 2 different dealers. Been experiencing this since day 1 on brand new Hybrid XLT but the ‘shimmy’ used to be at 50-60mph…after first service appt they put 2 new tires on they said could not be balanced. Then the 50-60mph shimmy went away but started happening at 70+. Second service appt did a “road force” balance which seemed to help a little but the vibration approaching 80mph is still very noticeable. Is this just how the Maverick rides at high speeds or is something still wrong? The highway ride now is comparable to my 20 yr old 225k Ranger…doesn’t seem right. Suggestions, help, much appreciated!
Mine is very steady at 90mph so you have an issue. We used to call this a tank slapper and was due to weird loading, looseness, or imbalance. Get it in the air and check all of your suspension connections including bearings. Swap tires front to back and look at tire wear and condition.

What's a "road force balance "?

I have the same exact issue from day 1. I was not going over 50 mph for the first 1k miles so it was not that much noticeable. But, now it has become bothersome. Already went to the dealer twice.
First time, force road balance was done and second time apparently nothing even though I left
the truck overnight. Vibration starts around 60 and get bad at 80 mph. Haven't gone any faster because I fear that the cv axle or something may pop out. My truck has just 2100 miles..

Is your issue resolved? thanks!

Greendesert,

Cool name btw. I suggest reading the whole thread. To answer your question…this has been mostly resolved for me. Still slight vibration but much more reasonable and it now does not get progressively worse. From what I have found and by your description it is most likely bad tires (ie manufacture defective imbalance in tires that cannot be corrected with weights). Unfortunately you have to stay on the dealers. Find one that will work with you. I went through 3. I know how frustrating this can all be, if you like the vehicle otherwise stick with it. After mine got resolved ish it started to finally feel like ‘my’ truck and I enjoy more now. The whole process was a major deterrent though from any future new ford vehicle purchases.
As you may know by now CV axle is another known issue. Usually the tell tale for this is vibration during acceleration, not steady per se.
The fact you had a road force balance and that changed things points to tires…same experience as me. Good luck!
If you are tired of dealing with dealers and having bad experiences contact ford customer service and they can help you talk to dealers and scheduling and stuff. It is sort of redundant and a go between but they are typically pleasant to work with at least.
Start elimination process-tires 1st. Then move on to axles (worst comes to worse if that crops up later down road its covered under powertrain). Mounts and other slight imbalances in bearings or suspension also possibility.
Hang in there!

Road force balance is just another form of your traditional tire balance but more precise. I’ve learned modern vehicles are so much lighter and balanced already that they are more susceptible to minor tire imbalances and the slightest imbalance is that much more noticeable.

Thanks for your info. I will contact Ford customer service now. Hopefully, they will assign a case manager and follow up with this issue. I have Ford ESP with 1st day rental. It is time I use that benefit.
I have never come across a half way decent dealer. I love the truck but Ford has to fix it or it goes under Lemon law of PA for 3 times repair but no fix.

It could be just how the truck runs. Went on a 1000 mile road trip and seems like 80 is the max it can do comfortably. Anything above that and it starts feeling sketchy, slight steering wheel vibration and floor board vibration and doesn’t feel stable at all. Only 6800ish miles on it. Rides like an old car. Seeing others having the same experience just kind of confirms it’s just how Maverick is.
Even regular commuting to work it seems like it wants to ride all over the road

I've gone over 80 by accident. Truck drives so smooth I don't notice how fast I am going.

Hey, Ritesh. Are you still experiencing this concern with your Maverick vibrating? If so, I would like to look into it on my end. Please send over a private message with your VIN and the name/location of your local Ford dealer.
