$1000 for that sunroof is not worth it. Hell, not sure the $800 I paid for it is worth it either.
Should become a panoramic at the new price!

Called to confirm my price protection and such with my dealer this morning, he hadn't gotten the memo yet. I've read about others having similar experiences.

I directed him here for Maverick info.

In the mean time, I'm guessing (and betting) that prices in general will continue to go up (not transitory), somewhat due to demand-pull.
Prices in general have gone up every year for the last 60 years (except 2009, post crash). Inflation at some level is pretty much built in to modern economies.

My guess is that inflation will drop back to "normal" levels (close to 3%) by the end of next year if the Omicron wave turns out to be more widespread but not as deadly as previous waves.

I think we are seeing a combination of demand-pull and cost-push inflation effects right now. But I also think that the drivers for both effects are enhanced by behavioral changes induced by disease concerns. Some of those changes may stick around, but I think most will fade.

Slower long-term shifts (like the shift to ordering goods off the web) that were happening before COVID will continue, but the economy will absorb those changes over time.

But these are just guesses. I'll make my firm predictions for 2022 at this time next year. :sneaky:

My local Ford dealer was clear that I could not order any Maverick and would have to settle for whatever comes in. And of course no orders for Hybrids at all. At this point I don't see how anyone who didn't order one back in July will have any chance of getting one. Am I missing something here ?

I just heard back from my sales rep and she assured me that I was price protected. Hopefully my dealer is honest and above board.

I think the only way for you to get a hybrid is to be on the lookout for a retail order was not purchased by the expected buyer. However expect considerable dealer applied ADM. you can however still order a ECOBOOST at the new prices direct from the dealer. I wouldn’t wait long as i suspect they will stop taking ECOBOOST orders before long. That is my guess only.

Man, I wish I saw this yesterday! All of the dealerships are closed for the holiday + Sundays.

This is a great diversionary tactic by Ford, designed to keep buyers from canceling their orders by making them think they currently have a super deal, so just hold on a little longer, and they now will be even more inclined to cheerfully accept a "slight" ADM over their initially promised original great "deal", for these vehicles, that the majority of people, also with a deposit down, have waited a minimum of 4 months just for news of when they can actually expect a message of them being built, much less delivered. ----- PR and marketing folks, you've got to love the audacity of it! ----
A classic ploy!

To defend those asking, it says invoiced and not ordered in the Price Protection. You do not see the window sticker until the truck is built. Keep reading DORA, but have never seen this. Did request for a ROVP, which does show my ROVP and order number.

ps. Have seen a hybrid Maverick on the dealers site under all inventory that was MRSP. The sales manger did tell me that they would honor the x-plan. Also when call asking to test drive it, was told this was a customers order and they would not allow test drives of a customers ordered truck. Time will tell and sure Fordvideoguy, Tim will clarify things on Tuesday night.

Waiting till Tuesday night is nothing like waiting an estimated 6 months for the truck.
