It’s really a crap shoot and depends on the car, market, etc. On average I believe Carvana and Vroom give more than carmax. But that can change from day to day.
They are essentially a middle man that’s not even making money on yours, or the hundreds of others (below invoice) that they have orders with. Considering the volume of cars they sell every week, I can understand their lack of communication. Doesn’t mean it’s right. But it is reality. Sometimes...
May want to check your level of entitlement. Chapman has been responsive to all my emails. They can’t answer your questions if you aren’t asking them. This isn’t a concierge service.
When I first became aware of the increased value of used cars, I was only getting quotes for a couple grand more than I owed on my infinity. By the time I had a maverick to replace it with, that number went to almost 11k. On average it was going up about 1000 a month. I mention it because I...
My score did drop a little. But it’s still very high. So I’m not too concerned about that. I do have a couple months before the ST will be ready. So my lien holder and title stuff should be cleared by then. I have no desire to avoid taxes. Just trying to capitalize on an opportunity that we may...
Kind of a big assumption there. And I wouldn’t sell for less than 5k more than what I paid out the door. My apologies if this thread is too weird for you.
I’ll gladly take more for my Maverick than I paid (OTD). I have very little time invested in it. Ordered in August and got a vin and production date the next day. Took delivery 8 weeks later. I’m basically driving a brand new lariat like it’s a rental until February. Works for me.
I’ve seen Ford crank out cars recently. But the market as a whole is going to take a while to get caught up. The premium being paid for used cars will likely last through 22.
If someone wants it that bad they can have it.
How good was their offer? I entered my info on their site too.
2.0 AWD Lariat luxury pkg
You’re welcome. Hope it helps.
So it looks like the used car market is starting to catch up with Maverick data. I still don’t get anything when I go through Carvana. But Vroom just sent me an offer that’s actually more than I paid for my Lariat.
This is promising. I just need it to hold its value until my Explorer ST gets...
Why would you be paying tax on a car you sold? You already paid the tax when you bought it?
I was worried about getting taxed on the 11k I made on my Q50 sale to Carvana. But I didn’t pay any tax, and don’t expect to. That 11k has been socked away for a healthy down payment on the ST I ordered...
