It probably doesn't help that the 8f35 has a lower torque input rating than the 2.0 puts out.

Does anybody have any thoughts on an 8f40 (Ford Edge 2.0) swap if my 35 gives out?

What was really exciting was when I decided to buy maverick and set aside $25k to pay cash putting the $$ into Ford stock at $13.20/sh then selling F stock at $22.23 (it did go to $24+ so I lost that.). Then kept $$ in other stock and financed 100% of lariat first edition hybrid at out-the-door purchase price. Paid cash for my mav hybrid xlt that came in Oct 22 and now have enough in (mav funded portion of) brokerage account to buy another one!!!!

Good for you - I was pretty glad that back when I bought my pure XL back in '22 I got out the door even with taxes (there was some 500 rebate for some unknown reason...) for under 22K. Now that they're 30K I hope that I don't get into some dumb accident where it's totaled and then I'd have to lay out that kind of $ to get a new replacement and yes I would for sure get another Mav.

In 1980 I bought a brand new 19" color TV for $329. I can buy a 55" for $99. Why would anyone pay hundreds to repair a $99 TV?

Best buy online yesterday had a 75" on clearance for $148

Now that they're 30K I hope that I don't get into some dumb accident where it's totaled and then I'd have to lay out that kind of $ to get a new replacement and yes I would for sure get another Mav.

The rebate was for the delayed production. The rebate was $1250 on my hybrid xlt with lux PKG ordered in Aug 21, 2021 delivered on Sept 9, 2022. The hybrid lariat I got in Feb 2022 was at full MSRP as it was one that the buyer refused. The sales lady called me and said she had one that was refused, still had key in hand and if I could get there within an hour or so I could buy it before she had to turn key in and report it available! 2.5 hours after that call it was parked in my garage!!!. I also purchased 7year, 125k extended warranty.

ah, yes that could very well be I was never really told why I got a discount and I for sure wasn't going to ask (just in case it was some mistake) - ordered mine oct 25 (last week I could order - I had just found out about the truck 2 weeks before and was only able to find one nearby to even look at) and got it oct 4, '22. I also got the extended - 100K for me as I don't drive much. Pretty good story on your part, the timing of that couldn't have been better, it's fun making snap decisions on when you're on the spot and on the clock :}

Cheap TV’s are fine, but you get what you pay for. OLED or mini led sets are so much better lol

My Sony Bravia was well wroth the $$$, it destroys any sub $800 TV out there. And given they are now TCL displays, I will happily pay for this TV to be repaired.

The Andy Griffith show or other MEtv shows and Grit westerns look fine on my 50"Samsung. That was the largest TV that would fit in the STUPID TV niche the builder put in above the fireplace when the house was built in 2007. Dumbest idea ever those niches. As I have said many times before I am cheap. TV is a distraction not an event in my life. I wouldn't pay $800 for a TV even if you gave me $800. I'd buy the $200 one and pocket the difference.
EDIT: the point of my original comment on TVs was to point out that with electronics it is quite often cheaper to replace than repair, just like the electronics in our vehicles.

I don’t even use a TV anymore. Dell Monitor for video games & an IPhone for all else. Probably explains part of my crappy vision…

Nothing wrong with being cheap, luckily. It’s all diminishing returns after a certain point. I do think the more expensive TVs are worth it IF you spend a lot of time watching movies or playing video games though..

Have a 40" Sony Bravia in the Living Room that was made in 2008 not one problem with it since it was new!!
