This is bullshit, I’m going to trade for a Colorado, which is what I planed for in the first place, or even a Toy Taco, don’t want or need this CRAP anymore! First Ford I’ve owned and now I know why I’ve never owned one previously! GM next! Let the 🔥 begin, don’t care anymore.
have a friend who had a colorado and had problems with suspension bushings. bought a ranger now...

The reason I asked about your experience with manual transmissions and four cylinder engines is that even a manual in that situation will "sound like it's lugging" even though it is not. The definition of lugging is using a gear that is too high for the current load. The Maverick doesn't do that. Yes, there are driveline vibrations at 1200 rpm when cruising, but that isn't lugging, nor is it shudder. The Maverick only does this when cruising, under light load. If load is applied, it downshifts. If it didn't downshift under load, it would truly be lugging.

All Ecoboost Mavericks do this, including mine, and have some driveline vibration under those conditions; and the gear chosen by the transmission strategy is intentional for fuel efficiency. It is not shudder.

Transmission shudder is related to a torque converter issue where not enough line pressure exists to lock the torque converter clutch properly. It is a "convulsive" shaking, not at all what you experience in your Maverick. The 8F35 transmission does not have torque converter shuddering issues.
Ok Tbone289, I respect your opinion and knowledge on this subject. But I’d be willing to sacrifice a few MPG’s for a tranny that runs “SMOOTHLY”. That’s all. I can feel it in my hands, feet, arms and ass, when it ‘doesn’t lug’ @ 11-1500 RPM.

I fully understand. It can be annoying, and it is a compromise to increase fuel economy, which unfortunately is forced on manufacturers these days. When it fairly infrequently becomes bothersome for me, I switch over to tow mode to bring up the rpms. Eventually I will likely get an accessport with a new transmission shift strategy.

Found this while searching the 'Net for camera recall news -

It sounds like a very small amount of trucks are under this recall - 1800 in U.S., 200 in Canada

This story was posted within the past hour, but I couldn't find anything on the MTC search about this, so sorry if it's a repost. Don't know if this is the BCM recall that everyone was talking about earlier in the week, that people thought was the camera recall.
So few - me-thinks they switched to another module for a brief period, and the software needed to be tweaked.
Perhaps another system in there that is cheaper than a module.

But nothing like forcing yourself to work harder by not being consistent with what you use for hardware!
And with extra programming now, and different going forward forever - maybe it wasn't cheaper in the long run.

It would be interesting to know how many current but different versions of firmware they have for just a few of the major modules.
