You know a HYSA makes more than 1.9%, right?

You also know not everyone is in the same position in life?

Get off your high horse, Dave Ramsey.
My position in life is "retired" - I have no idea who Dave Ramsey is - HYSA is not as good as a well executed mid length CD.

I have driven plenty of "rattle traps" in my day and over-extended myself on car loans as well. Crawled out of that nightmare and never looked back. it's a tough road for sure, but once you get past the "gotta have it" factor and use your income wisely, you will reap bigger rewards.

There are only three horses in my garage, a 1983 Mustang GLX convertible, a 2006 Mustang GT Convertible and a Troy-Bilt Pony riding lawn mower. None of them are high at all.

🤣 yep, it’s crazy how threads get so derailed from the original subject
The original subject was to try and convince everybody to not buy another Ford....a failed effort for sure.

Supposed to be, but only to the original owner I think.
All Ford Warranties are fully transferable fyi. Some aftermarket warranties, like Borla’s “Million Mile Warranty” are only honored for original customer.

Here's a good relatable transmission replacement costs video. Dealership versus Mechanic.
This guy is pretty good he even includes his mistakes.

The rebate was for the delayed production. The rebate was $1250 on my hybrid xlt with lux PKG ordered in Aug 21, 2021 delivered on Sept 9, 2022. The hybrid lariat I got in Feb 2022 was at full MSRP as it was one that the buyer refused. The sales lady called me and said she had one that was refused, still had key in hand and if I could get there within an hour or so I could buy it before she had to turn key in and report it available! 2.5 hours after that call it was parked in my garage!!!🥰👍👍. I also purchased 7year, 125k extended warranty.
Wasn't it called a PCO or Personal Cash Offer ?

Should’ve purchased the extended warranty.
Murphy's Law says that if you buy a extended warranty till 125K miles, it will have issues at 126K. That's just the way it works.

In 1980 I bought a brand new 19" color TV for $329. I can buy a 55" for $99. Why would anyone pay hundreds to repair a $99 TV?
No one would. The point is, it cost less to replace than to repair with the higher labor costs today and the lack of expertise.

Right !
Precisely !
That’s the point !
Then you simply trade it in right before that extended warranty expires.

Again, my Gap insurance that just last month saved my ass also expires at five years.

I’m not gonna be one of those guys that pays it off after five or six years then it gets totaled or needs thousands in repairs.
Not this 67 year old kid.

Wisdom may come with age but you gotta think it through. You buy auto insurance to protect you against idiot drivers.
Then neglect to insure your vehicle against repairs and total loss that can cost as much or more than a crash with a bad driver.

My estimated cost of total piece of mind,
Five years of full coverage auto insurance with GAP,
PLUS
Five years of extended warranty coverage,
$130 a month,
Just the auto insurance is $90 a month so for a measly $40 more I’m fully covered.
