Oil Life Monitor:

When I stay mostly on city streets, not loaded, and stay under 60 MPH
OLM drops 7% per 1000 miles.

When I tow my 7x12x9h toy hauler:
OLM drops 20% per 1000 miles.

When I tow my 8x20x9h travel trailer:
OLM drops 29% per 1000 miles.
Great info! OLM definitely takes engine load into account.

My OLM drops 1% or so per week when my Maverick sits in the garage undriven.

There is a calendar built into the OLM that won’t go beyond 12 months regardless of mileage?

Even the “20,000 mile” oil makers say change in 12 months even if below 20,000 miles. Additives degrade and other issues occur over time not only miles.

So as a retired mechanic with 30 years experience I use the oil life monitor as a guideline when it hits 20% to 10% remaining oil life I change it myself using a factory filter and any brand approved synthetic 0-20 wt oil . This usually equals about 7500 miles on the odometer and keep in mind about 1000 of those miles are in electric mode.

How long has it been since last change? Less than a year still?

Longest I’ve gone is 7months on an EB. Might go up to 11 if I had a hybrid:)
Mid October. I may or may not hit 14k on the oil before 1 year.
I may or may not sell the Mav before the end of the year, also. lol

What does an oil analysis cost for getting both oil results and engine results?

*** Never mind.

Oil + TBN
$50.00

I think I will stick to my once a year service schedule. I usually have less than 3000 miles a year, no trailer towing. Last oil change was a Ford Quick Lane “Works” deal. $86 for everything.
OP Surfstar was asking about long Hybrid limits and does not care about our puny EB change intervals:)

48k and I've been stuck in the dealer plan, 7500 miles syn blend. So stupid that they don't use full syn. Of course we know the manual calls for full on the hybrid and blend on the Eco.

Can wait to get off the 60k plan and do full syn, OLM 10-20%.

Just wondering how long people's Maverick OLM (oil life monitor) has gone on a hybrid.

My last change was at: 20,900 - current miles: 29,060 = 8,160 miles on oil currently.
OLM estimates 5900 miles to go

Means I could go over 14,000 miles on this oil change! Sweet. We'll see if the estimate holds...

I'm running a Fram XG3614 oil filter - which is good for up to 20k miles.
Oil: Havoline Lifelong 0W-20 - they only "guarantee" it for up to 10k miles. But it meets the Ford hybrid spec WSS-M2C962-A1, so it will last as long as the Ford OLM thinks it should.
Question - is there any indicator that shows how many actual miles you have on the gas ENGINE since last oil change?

The Title of this thread reads:

Longest hybrid oil change interval?!?
Longest interval seems to mean for me as time not mileage.

So for me with less than 5,000 miles driven yearly it is exactly 1 year.

can't you upgrade the 'plan'? throw in another 20 or 30 bucks to get full syn? Weird that they're actually toying with the warranty using the blend....

I know I may change my oil "too much", but first change was @5K miles with NAPA synthetic (meets Ford Spec) with a NAPA Proformer filter at the six month mark....next change was at dealership @9K again with Ford hybrid spec full synthetic oil and a Motorcraft filter....at the 1 year mark. (dealer did oil change at no charge)

Mechanics say dont go by these monitors, go by miles driven. I had an 09 Honda crv. The monitor said I could go almost 30,000 miles with conventional oil!

I change mines every 7,500 miles. I wouldn’t trust the oil life info on the App. It’s not a true reflection of the oil condition. It’s based on when the reset was applied after the last oil change. It’s usually set up for every 10,000 miles but if you reset it before the 10k miles it will think that there’s new oil and start calculating the oil life span again based on a new 10k range.
