6 Month ago I had a chance to buy a Ford Maverick Tremor (2025) 40k. I sat in it for 15 minutes trying to get comfortable. But I couldn't find that comfort. I sat in a Ford Ranger, and I thought it was much more comfortable. Now I am lost, not knowing if I want a Maverick (Tremor or hybrid) or a Ranger. I feel like I wasn't givin enough time to find my proper seat position for the Maverick.

In my mind this is what I would expect to get if I pay 40k or more.

Seat heaters
Leather or fake leather seats.
Backup camera camera blind spot monitoring etc.

Any Advice? Who here takes long drives in their Mavericks? Do you find yourself comfortable?

My nicely equipped hybrid is all around great. If I had to do it all over again I'd get the 2wd Lariat instead of the XLT. Take occasional long drives but averaging mid 40s mpg. Don't feel I'm skimping on power. Have had a Maverick for 3 years.

The Lariat comes with the features you've described.

I'm on my 3rd Maverick Hybrid, I do (6) 1k fishing trips a year and average 12-14k total miles annually on them. I'm 6' and ~185lbs and find the truck very comfortable. It keeps the miles off my other daily drivers and I don't think I've ever averaged less than 40mpg on a tank of fuel whether around town or ~75mph on the highway on the trips......

Good luck

I bought a Lariat Mav because I wanted all the features you mentioned, plus some. I'm right at 6' and 175 pounds and it is very comfortable for me, but that's an individual thing. I also get a spray-in bedliner in my trucks, and want extra tie-downs and at least basic lighting in the bed and the Lariat also comes with those. Same with AWD, that is standard in the Lariat. I could have gotten a really loaded up XLT but then the cost difference is small enough it makes sense to get the Lariat with the better stereo and seats.

Just to throw some more confusion into the mix, if you are considering a Ranger, can you consider an F150? The fuel economy between a 2.7L F150 and a Ranger isn't that different, and the F150 beats all as far as road noise and comfort. My buddy was in the same situation as you and found an F150 XLT with under 15k miles, less than a year in service for $41k. It would need some Katzkin leather seat covers to meet your list. There are a lot more F150s new and used available. To me the Ranger just doesn't make sense, but I have a Maverick and an F150. For me the Ranger doesn't get the fuel economy and isn't as city-friendly for a daily driver, and it won't tow what an F150 does.

Love my 2024 Lariat and all its toys.
My seats are the most comfortable I’ve ever had, just the right support and shape for my 5’11” 150 pound in shape self.
Longest ride was three hours, non stop no breaks. I was fine, not the least bit stiff when I got out.
The top toyz for me :

Heated seats and steering wheel,

Sound deadening windshield and the Lariats extra sound proofing,
The somewhat quieter cab helps the very good B&O sound system to stand out,

Key fob starts on cold mornings from inside my cabin is much appreciated.

Love the ‘Clown seats’ so much I covered them right up to keep em pretty for the next owner. :’P

I’ve never paid extra for a paint color. But I do like my Hot Pepper Red.

Be warned, If you buy the Lariat trim you likely won’t be happy with anything less when you buy your next Maverick.

Oh yeah, The Ecoboost Rawks.
I’d want this engine and truck even if all I got was 18 mpg. But I will admit an average of 28 mpg is nice.

If money isn't a problem then get a Ranger Raptor! Way better over a Mav Tremor

BUT if your budget is for a Ranger XL... you better get the Maverick Tremor!

The Maverick Tremor is more luxury than the Ranger XL
The Ranger Raptor beats the Maverick Tremor

My thoughts would be to rent a maverick from one of the car rental agencies for a couple of days and see how the seats work for You. There are several post on this forum where owners are just not happy with the seats for various reasons. IMO the Ranger does have better seats and interior although hardy much differences in interior room. That said I’m very pleased with my MY22 Lariat EB, Zero issues with it. IMO their different trucks for different purposes, the Maverick is unibody, Ranger the traditional body on frame, more truck like and higher towing etc rated capacities. All depends on your comfort, likes and needs. To sum it up imo, the Ranger will give you more comfort the Maverick more mpg. Good Luck in whatever you decide is best for YOU

Drive often long distance. Have done 1000 miles in a day from central MA to W. SC, twice as well as trips to northern Maine to do snowmobiling and yes, my ass does start to feel uncomfortable on these long drives. Escape was similar. Would like the seat a little softer. But that is me...

I think you should look at other vehicles. The Tremor and Hybrid are complete opposites which suggests you don't really know what you want.
The way I'd look at is is "Do you gun it to get ahead of everyone" at a highway merge, or do you strategically merge? If the former, go Tremor/other EB, and if not the hybrid.

I just purchased the 2026 Hybrid Lariat Maverick. I like it okay, but I switched from a Subaru. There are big changes, such as the cameras.... in the Maverick, they are not covered. So the rain, snow, and dirt affect the camera. I am definitely purchasing a cover to go overtop. I guess I was spoiled with my Subaru features, but I really wanted the Maverick for gardening reasons. I am sure that I am still adjusting and will get there soon. My brother has the Ranger. It is a little bigger than the Maverick. Same scenario. :)

I would like to know how you get 40 MPGs at 75 MPH highway. I get 33 at that speed but get 45 to 50MPGs in summer city driving with my hyper milling city habits. What mode do you drive in.

As other suggest I would try to rent a Mav for a couple of days to see if you can adjust to it.
I bought mine without ever setting a foot into a dealership and drove it back from Kentucky to Texas. That was a 25'XL Hybrid AWB. No complaints at all. I am about 235lbs and 6'. Some people complain that the seats are crappy which I cannot share. But then each person is different.
Good luck with making the right decision for your intended purpose.

I'm not suggesting that while actually driving at 75+ mph they have returned 40 mpg, but I don't think I've averaged less than 40 mpg on a tank on my 22 or 23 Maverick Hybrids irrespective of my driving conditions.. My 1-week fishing trips are 450 each way, then 100 miles locally, so ~1k from and back to my home. Of the 450, perhaps 325 is Interstate or PA Turnpike... My last trip in my '23 before I sold it was 40.4 mpg, my '22 did the same. I have another trip coming up and I'll take my '26.

Is that hand calculated or are you going by the computer? Mine shows above 40mpg most of the time on the computer but once I hand calculate it comes in at 37-38. The best MPG I ever got was 39.7 hand calculated and the majority of my driving is city on my 25'AWD.
