I wondered if anyone had posted that. Glad I looked first.
I would love to know the total damages to the wash and car behind.
wow! sounds like the carwash is on the hook for that one for letting the truck go through with that bundle of wire in the bed.

Just thinking here..for what its worth when ordering your new windshield, I understand Lariats may have two versions of glass windshields. One with and one without Acoustic windshield and Wiper De-Icer. Hopefully your VIN will determine the exact match. You might want to check with your Ford Dealer before you initiate the order with Safelight for a second opinion. That way you will get the exact OEM replacement.

Can car washes actually dissolve themselves of any damage to your vehicle ? I know they put up signs that say they are not responsible for damage to your vehicle, but does that hold up or are they just trying to discourage you from filing a claim ? I can't see how they can get away with damage to your vehicle caused by their equipment, but I guess it's hard to prove possibly. Maybe it's just he said/she said situation IDK.

Yes, my insurance has coverage but deductible is set too high to matter. Given this is my first replacement windshield in 30 years, I'm willing to eat the cost out of pocket for this one. I plan to talk to insurance Agency next week to lower deductible for the Maverick and Expedition.

I asked the dealership first. They told me to call Safelite because that is who they call anyway. They said the VIN match should get me the right glass with the features it came with from the factory. In fact, they said it might actually be a little bit better glass with a better seal than what Ford uses.

As for the wiper de-icer, I do have that on my truck but I live in the Deep South and my truck lives in a garage. So, I"m not even sure I've used it in the almost 3 years I've owned the truck. In any event, I plan to confirm with the technician before he gets to work that they brought the right glass.

Safelite was great for me. They came to my house and replaced it in my garage. I can easily recommend them.

Is he immune to liability from the damage his car did to the car wash? Reciprocity, right?

Be thankful you weren't behind this guy,,,,,,

I don't know about that particular car wash but the 1 and only 1 I have ever used in 25 years has a large sign before you enter that reads "truck beds must be empty of all items, tires trash etc. Owner on vehicle is liable for damage and loss of business." Next line is "By purchasing a car wash you accept the terms of use".

A car wash opened up near my home recently and I was thinking about giving them a try. Maybe not.
just hand wash it yourself - I never trust (or want to pay for) some wash place - there's too much going on and the idea os big old bristles and sponges just slapping your ride is bound to sometimes equaling a not good outcome.

Thinking about this car wash thing remind me off my first ca, a 1984 diesel VW rabbit. I NEVER washed in its 27 year life. It wasn't till I was able to replace it with a new car until I got my first date and lost my veganity at 45 years age
