If someone turns to the right 100 or so yards in front of me the Mav beeps loudly and a lot and red letters on the dash says something like "collision alert". There isn't anything resembling that a collision is about to happen in front of me. This has happened 8 or 10 times in the 16 months I have owned the vehicle (turned 10,000 miles on the odometer today). The alert happened yesterday 100 miles from home. My choices are to take it to the dealer and worry about all the things that can go wrong and get f__d up, (and maybe get it fixed) or ignore the eyes-and-ears interruption and keep driving. I choose to ignore it and keep driving. Hmmm, I wonder how long it would take the dealer to replicate the problem or declare "No trouble found"? :sneaky:

Have you tried changing the alert sensitivity?

I keep mine on high.
I want as much notification as possible.

This feature means nothing to me. I consider it an annoyance and a complete waste of time. My only response is a head-shake from side to side. It's right up there with my radio switching to channel 54 on it's own 3-4 times since I've owned it. BlueBoy has a lot of little quirks that I find amusing. Love the truck. Wifey and I went to the Galt house in Louisville and ate at Jeff Ruby's for Easter. Drove the Mav and left her quicker Malibu Premier sitting in the driveway.

10:46 PM. I've been replaying the collision avoidance scenario over and over in my head, off and on, for six hours. The alert starts when the rear bumper of the vehicle ahead is approximately aligned with the center of my windshield moving to the right, out of my way of travel. IE: The vehicle is crossing my path of travel but worse yet, the vehicle is making a right turn in front of me, traveling in the same direction. It has never happened with a vehicle traveling to the left or turning to the left. They aren't a threat to me, but an annoyance for sure. This is an example of a feature I don't want, didn't ask for, but I am stuck with. If I ignore it, maybe it'll go away.  If it gets worse, I'll cave in and take it to a dealer. I will tell them I would be happy if they removed the feature entirely, which they won't do. Forscan is out of the question as long as I am under Ford warranty.
