1200 miles in 3 years WHY would you ever even consider it at all . That would be insane . Average miles is 13 K a year. Your not even in the same I would say ball park but for you same country,.
Please reread I have 1200 miles remaining on 3/36.

Maybe it was a sales technique, but since replacing an LED headlamp alone would almost cause the warranty to break even, I ended my streak of no extended plans. I just treat it like auto insurance; you spend it without actually hoping to need to use it.

With the Expedition, I even got the maintenance plan. Is it cheaper to do it myself or simply pay at the quick lube? Absolutely! But as it will be my wife's car and I work with computers for a living, there is a hassle factor it gets rid of....

I know the hybrid has a longer warranty and it's also a mature technology, so that's secondary for me.
I'm more concerned about all the electronics, which would be covered under the 3/36 warranty and would get very expensive very quickly, ergo, the thought of getting the warranty.
Power windows, seats, mirrors, copilot 360, pre collision & AEB, etc. and most of it I can't repair easily myself, especially since for a big part of it, I don't have the diagnostic tools to troubleshoot.
I already have over 5K miles in 4 months, so the bumper to bumper will be gone too quickly!

I am not afraid to work on my vehicles, since I've done just about everything on previous vehicles, but the electronics/electrical gremlins are mostly beyond my means.
I agree there there are other things that can go bad beside the powertrain.

I am coming to the end of my 3/36 warranty, with only a 1200 miles and 4 month left I have decided not to buy a extended warranty. My Maverick has been problem free and yes I know that doesn't guarantee a problem free future but I am going to take my chances.
I purchased my 1st ever ESP warranty once my Edge was @ 35 months.....So glad I did. Trans went 55K, steering assembly 100K + 4 other issues. $$$.. I now work PT in service @ a Ford dealership so I see ALL the issues....and there are many.

Got mine out to 100,000 miles or five years.
I’ll trade in on a new one right before that.
It’s cheap insurance.
It's insurance. Insurance is NEVER cheap.

I've never bought an extended warranty on anything. If I had bought an extended warranty on every car new car I've owned, added up the cost, subtracted the out of pocket repairs, I would be able buy ANOTHER new car.
Actually, the truth is that if purchasing from Granger Ford it really is cheap insurance.
I'm usually mostly against extended warranties for most products. But for the Maverick (or any Ford really) I think a lot of people don't realize that when you purchase it through Granger the price is actually a great deal. The Ford ESP that I got through Granger was almost half of what my local dealership said was their best price. Even third party warranties with similar coverage were much more than Granger's ESP price. To me this made it a no brainer. Now if the only choice was paying full price at the local dealership markup then I can't imagine I would have purchased the ESP.

My experience with extended warranties, road hazard packages, screen replacement insurance, etc.

I buy it: the product I bought it for is trouble free for the entire time I own it.

I don't buy it: unrepairable flat, smashed screen, etc. within a month from purchase.

I bought a 100k extended warranty for my EcoBoost.

I wish I had recorded the price of all of the extended warranties I never bought over the years to show how much money I've saved. It definitely would equate to more than any potential issue I may have with a single vehicle.
You try that logic with health insurance too?

The longest vehicle I owned was a grande cherokee laredo for 13 years and only because I got into an accident with it. When I first bought it used I went ahead and got an extended warranty and glad I did because it came in handy saving me more than it cost within the first few years. This Mav is my first new vehicle and I love it but I know anything can still happen and like being prepared for some things at least.

The days of cars like Honda and Toyota going 200,000, 300000, or more miles might be over. Even those marques have been plagued by issues the last few years. Many people don't realize just how expensive parts and labor are these days.

I didn't buy one either on my 2022 Hybrid.

Though Ford gave me a free 3 year/36000 mile extended warranty after replacing my Engine at 39,000 miles.
Please start another thread and tell us about your hybrid engine replacement - I would be very interested in reading about it!!

I bought an extended warranty. If I never use it, it I probably lost. If I have to use it on a big repair, I won. Will just have to wait. 70,000 more miles to go.

Do you consider extended warranties on products and health insurance as the same thing? I hope not.
