I will likely buy an 8-year, 100,000 mile, $100 deducible PremiumCARE Ford ESP from my dealer, for $1195. It could just be money thrown away, but I'm nervous about buying a 1st-year model from Ford.

I'd never buy a third-party extended warranty.

No extended warranty for me, the three years will probably outlast the 36K. I looking forward to the AWD Hybrid by then.

No extended for me. I may put that money into one of those twin scroll hybrid bolt ons when the warranty runs down. I see that being very popular as these vehicles age.

Yes, it does. But that's not what worries me. Electronics are what make me most nervous, followed by the non-hybrid components.
I wouldn’t buy the Ford Maverick if those things worried me.

Looking at the premium ESP plan as I intend to keep long and drive a lot of miles.

Also adding the additional light-bulb coverage line item mainly for the LED headlights that can cost thousands to replace if they burn out.

As to which year and miles combination, still number crunching on the time and miles I expect to put into the truck to come up with that.

Flood Ford online is where I will buy it unless my dealer will match the cost.

Have never bought one. Waste of money.

That said, buying one on the open market for 8 years 100K for $1,100 seems worth looking in to.

But as a few have pointed out, no need to buy it while your car is under the 3 year, 36K mfg warranty. Which for me will last about 15 months. Thank you Texas highways.

Extended warranties are usually sold by the finance mgr who writes up the sales contract, along with pre-paid maintenance and other upcharges. Anything that gives them their own separate commission on extras like this must mean it is overpriced.

Ford has a 3 yr warr on Mavericks and a 8 yr warr on hybrid components. Why let them have your money so far in advance? You will never use it if you decide to sell your Maverick sooner anyway. If you really want an extended warranty, buy one from Car Shield or a similar provider when Ford's expires.

Is that a misprint? 8 years/60K miles? That mileage is way too low.
I just sold my 2009 F150 that I bought new. It had 68,000 on it after 12 years. I think 60,000 will cover my needs.

I guess it will 😎. 60K would last me three years or less.

That's probably true for most people. I am 71 and don't have to commute to work anymore. Mostly just drive into town every couple of days. I have had my Maverick almost a month now and have 251 miles on it.
