I bought over a year ago after waiting almost a year. During that year I was a member of this forum and read about all of the recalls, so I hedged my bet and bought a warrantee. It wasn't the longest but it is close (I did some quick math in my head to try and pick the best plan). I was retiring soon (now I am) and after seeing so many trucks written off after an accident, I decided to also buy insurance for replacement cost for 7 years. I figured since I had the money now why not secure a good set of wheels well into the next decade while I could afford it.

With all the recalls, is anyone buying Fords extended warranty? Mine is up in October. I have a Lariat Hybrid.
YES! If your going to keep your Maverick for 7 years get a 10 year ESP from Granger, and get the light protection added for around $50. (headlight for a Lariat are $1600) when you sell your truck, you can transfer the warranty to the new owner, who will pay more for a vehicle with a factory warranty.

Extended warranties on both our Mavericks, and while we are still under the original new vehicle warranties, I'm glad we will be covered when they expire. Already we have replaced two 12 volt batteries and the entire RDU in the all wheel drive ecoboost. I suspect CV axles will start to go pretty soon, too. These are cheaply made and still having all their new model bugs being worked out.
CV axles were an issue with the 22-24 Mavericks, the 2025 Mavericks have a beefed up redesigned CV axle that is supposedly a slightly cheaper version of the proven Tremor CV axles.

I know 2025 is pretty new, mine only has 10k miles so no problems, anyone else have a 2025 Maverick & any CV axle problems?

I cannot speak to other new Ford products, but my 2008 Mustang has much better fittings and quality to it, as did our old Ford Escape and even the tiny Ford Fiesta we had. Thicker metal panels, much less exposed wiring and connections underneath.
What has been happening to all OEMs is the EPA keeps demanding 5% better fuel efficiency because some Tier 1 supplier demonstrated that a much more complex with more wear parts to break 10 speed transmission gets 5% better fuel economy than an 8-speed - so now automakers gotta put the 10 speed from ZF or design a copy like AISIN had to for 2025 - reliability be damned as long as it gets 5% better fuel efficiency in the same unrealistic test-bed that claims a 2liter turbocharged engine has better fuel efficiency than a 3 liter naturally aspirated simple V6 - because if you drive the small turbo engine like a grandma never stepping hard on the gas pedal to spool up the turbo, it can get 7% better gas mileage in fairytale lalaland fantasy driving.

The the NTHSA is approached by a Tier 1 supplier who developed a camera based collision-avoidance emergency braking system using electronic motors controlling your steering rack & voila, it saves lives so NTSHA makes it required for all cars sold in 2025, extra costs to be passed on to consumers.

NTSHA also wants OTA over the air software updates & event recorders on all new vehicles because Tesla did it so obviously everyone else can.

Guess what NOONE is mandating? Basic minimum reliability standards for vehicle electronics & components.

So automakers are being forced to buy all this whizbang tech from the Tier 1 firms lobbying the EPA & NTSHA, can only raise prices so much before losing sales, so where will they cut costs to increase profits? Reliability of components.

Our only hope as consumers is buying the largest volume production models from automakers who keep a platform as long as possible & build alot of vehicles off a common platform, the volume of vehicles incentivizes spare part manufacturers to continue production since theres a guaranteed large volume of buyers for those parts after 7 years.

As far as playing the odds, the buying a model off the C2 common platform for Escape, Bronco Sport, Maverick, Lincoln Corsair vehicles, is one of the larger volume platforms, imagine what its gonna be like trying to find 10 year old Volvo or Maserati electrical controllers.

I bought it for mine based on the fact that I had never owned a Hybrid and have no idea what problems to expect. On top of that, with all the other electronics in today’s vehicles, it just seemed to make good sens, expensive though it was.

Where did you read this? Can you provide a link that the 2025 Hybrid CV acles are a "cheaper version of the proven Tremor CV axles?"

That is not the case. The non-Tremor ecoboosts and the hybrid CV axles are completely different internally. All we know about the upgraded CV axles for hybrids is that it is longer than the previous part # which does appear to address the main issue.

However - these are not "slightly cheaper version of the proven Tremor CV axles" as they do not share the internals at all.

If you are going to keep your truck for 7+years, I would suggest buying a 10 year ESP from Granger. All ESP's start from the day the vehicle was first registered by the first owner, therefore a 5 year is only good for 2 more years. Also when you sell your truck, the ESP is transferable to the next owner who will have a 3 year warranty just like you had when you bought it new. That will get you a better price, maybe more then you paid for the ESP to cover you.

Yes bought an extended warranty for the first time due to what you mentioned. I think it is necessary.

Went ahead and did the warranty. I just turned 10k miles on my truck and while the hybrid components are covered for 8/100k (and my HF55 is already leaking) I wanted to get everything else covered for the 100k as well.

While I would have loved a 10/125k warranty it almost doubles the price.

For 8 years and 100k miles plus first day rental, lighting, and key fob replacement I paid $2,120.00 for it all.

While that is a significant hit to take it guarantees that I have 7 more years of worry free motoring. The only other vehicle I will consider trading for will be a redesigned Ridgeline if they combine their current AWD system with a hybrid that can achieve above 30mpg combined.

Even then I am likely to keep my Maverick for my now 9 year old son to take as his first vehicle when he hits 16.

Actual real life recent experience. My 3/36 was up mid October, bought the Ext warr via granger for about $2300 (100k/10/100$ ded), last week had 'no start' needed to jump it, it fired up, figured well it's 3 years and colder out now maybe just time to get a new battery anyways. Took it to dealership they did their tests found battery was toast, said that my orig warr was up but I was (I'm surprised at this since it's a maintenance item...) covered with my extended warranty. They did multiple testing, replaced it with upgraded AGM battery, did parameter modifications and I picked it up all for $100. I'm guesstimating that the total cost to me would have been around $4-500 w/o the extended so after less than a month I'm more than happy I bought it.

If you are going to keep your truck for 7 years, I would get a 10 year warranty from Granger (first 3 yrs don't count) this will keep you covered, then sell your truck with 3 years left to transfer to the next owner. If you trade in, you'll get a rebate on the remaining years. Who wouldn't want to buy a 7 years old truck with a 3 year warranty, just like it had when it was new!

Your HF55 is leaking at 10k miles??? Thats under warranty then, bring it back to thr dealer fix it under standard mfg warranty.

Next, leaking from where exactly, 1st time Im hearing of the hybrid drive leaking, the ULV is not under pressure like with a conventional hydraulic clutch transmission and is mechanically very simple compared to a clutch transmission, if the oil seal is leaking then it was likely damaged during mfg or by the dealer,
did you break open the fill plug & then forgot to tighten it?

I guess it could be leaking a coolant hose not the ULV, hybrid drive has its own coolant reservoir that wouldn't be a good day. High current electrical systems highly dislike heat buildup.

Yep. It is leaking from the bottom of the HF55 where the two cases meet. It had created a stain on my felt before I ruined the felt so I will have to wait for it to reappear on the Rival skid plate once installed.

I know it is covered. I'll get it checked out sooner than later.

$2000 for mine out to 100,000 or 5 years.
I will trade In Just before it ends.
I like to be well insured, hope I never need it,

$80 extra a year gets me a new never titled truck if I total out before the end of the fifth year per my auto policy.
These unibody truck are like fine china.
You fart too hard and the unibody is bent.
