Yup. I ordered my Bronco in May. Since I had no idea when it would be built, I ordered my Maverick and made a killing selling my Q50. Still don’t have a vin or build date on the Bronco. But I get to drive a brand new Lariat maverick until the Bronco is ready. Just hoping that I do alright on selling the maverick whenever the bronco is ready.
Also carb gray ftw

I have a 12/6 build date for my HPR Lariat FX4 and I will be doing the same thing as soon as I get my Wildtrak that I ordered on 10/27/21. (8/29/20 reservation) I am also getting a 2dr carb gray.

I ordered a Hybrid while the MPG are nice it is missing some thing that I did not want to pay more for. If they got close to what the price difference of what a EB with AWD maybe FX4 or 4K towing and taxes recouped I would highly consider it. The is also if I can still order one.

Depends on the offer. I'll be paying less than MSRP even after taxes. I'm planning to replace the Forte GT with the Maverick. The Forte has 7,100 miles and is financed at 0%. I definitely don't need the Maverick, and for $2,000 no probably not but $3,500 or more.. I'd have to seriously consider it.

OP, if you will seriously consider doing this, you need to shop around, it's likely you can gain more with a little effort.

Back in the summer when I flipped my F150, Vroom was the high bidder, until I found a Honda dealer who matched it. 🤠

I would do the same with the Mav, if I ever get it, but it would take +$5k to make it worth my trouble.

So far 3 dealers in, 1 said 32k.... One said they are trying to sell them over MSRP, so they won't pay over MSRP for one.

3rd said they would match the Original. So far no luck getting the price higher. Figured it was worth a shot to look around.

No. Taxes/title/registration is somewhere around 12% in WA. I'd have to get an offer way above that.

Depends on what my purpose was in getting the vehicle. For a hybrid buy? I'd absolutely consider it. There's not that much more you can do in it vs an SUV. If I can go from 28k to 31k that puts you inbetween a nice price point for compact/crossover or midsize hybrids and then you don't have to look at the stupid cubby hole because Ford failed to source a 10.25" screen or w/e.

Assuming you already own another working vehicle, would you flip your Mav for a profit? Scenario: I bought my MAV @ Chapman 4% under invoice. I went to the parts department at the local dealer, and while I was waiting the used manager came up and said they would give me 2k over MSRP if I sold my truck.

After doing some quick rough math.
Ford Maverick Would you Flip your Mav? giphy
I would come out with a little over 2k profit after taxes paid.

It's not much, but I'm also on the fence about ordering a Hybrid, instead of sticking with my Ecoboost.

Thoughts?
For me I’d still lose due to taxes…

In CA, they'd have to offer me $3k over MSRP for me to walk away even, so I'd need some more for the pain and suffering of waiting and waiting and waiting these past few months.

Yup. Gotta take advantage of the craziness somehow. My infinity value just kept going up. Like a $1000 every couple weeks. Pre pandemic I would have broke even if I sold it. Made 11k on it from Carvana a couple weeks ago. Had to get something brand new and at MSRP or better for it to make sense. Buying used just gets in your pockets on the way out, rather than in. There are no decent prices used cars anymore.

This is pretty much a similar scenario to where I started. The Carvana and Vroom values, went from 17k (06/20) on my other car to $31,100(current). Didn't sell it yet, as I was waiting on the Mav to come in first. Eventually the Mav came in, and I decided to hold on longer. Not sure how long these values will last.

I decided to go with the Mav, for many reasons, but the biggest was it made no sense to buy used with the prices used cars are going for.
