I understand yours and everyone else's frustration. I do believe Ford should be better in explaining the delays better. Once I decided on getting a Maverick, and never ever ordering a car/truck before, I figured I would have it by December. Then I heard of the delays, supply chain issues and then finding this forum helped and hindered my anxiety concerning my order.

I sometimes post a short reply or simply like a post etc, so I didn't mean to come across as dismissive. I only meant to say/agree at this post because in the long run, life is more important than waiting on a car.

The world lived through and sill is with a pandemic. I lost my spouse in 2020, not because of COVID, but with leukemia. She was in the hospital just as the lock downs began. she was in for 1 month. I could only see her 2 times. Once when they thought she was dying and then when she died.

I was trying to nicely agree that buying and waiting for a truck is not that big a deal, when you have more important things to deal with. You may or may not have a similar experience, but I don't wish that on anyone.

Now, lets get back to enjoying and complaining about Ford's Maverick.
Peace be with you. My spouse was in hospital Christmas week last year (no visitors allowed at all) and coded after heart surgery. Had it not been for the Tiger Team being present on that very unit at the time, the outcome would have been much different. We got lucky. My heart goes out to you, at your great loss. May your Maverick arrive before mine.

Same here, ordered on July 26th, Hybrid, Lux Pkg, 1st Edition, Rapid Red. No schedule date yet.
I thought I heard awhile back that they were having trouble getting the Rapid Red paint. Can anyone clarify or confirm?

If you have/had an Oct build date for your hybrid, I would think you'll be getting a Christmas, or New Years gift from Ford.

Those of us who don't have build dates, yet, will be looking at Mid-February deliveries, at best. So, I know we've learned not to get our hopes-up as hybrid buyers, I think you are officially authorized to start clearing out that extra space in your garage. ~high five~
That is my thoughts... if I get scheduled next week depending on when it's scheduled I will expect it before the end of March. If I don't then I will need to make sure I do something with my existing car so it will pass inspection at the end of March.

Sounds like it's 25% of the booked 35000 units, or 8750 vehicles.
I had not heard that Ford had only booked 35000 orders. I don't know, of course, but that doesn't seem right to me. Here's why:
  • Ford originally planned to build over 100k Mavericks with 40% being hybrid. That means they originally planned to build about 40k hybrids.
  • If there have only been 35k orders, even if 60% are hybrid, that's only about 21k hybrid orders so far. But Ford has cut off hybrid ordering because they can't fill any more orders this year.
  • So, to believe that there are only 35k orders, we would have to believe that Ford has decided that it can only build half the hybrids it originally planned to build. Possible, but weird.
It seems more likely to me that Ford has already booked close to 40k hybrid orders (their original target) and that is why they are cutting off hybrid orders. So, even if 60% of all orders are hybrids, that would mean Ford has at least 60k to 70k total orders already booked.

It was just speculation on how that one poster reached 25% and 35ish. There wasn't enough information to really figure anything out.

I just keep seeing a lot of confusion about COVP/ROVP and people thinking they made orders when maybe they aren't confirmed. Who knows what the truth is until Ford tells us.

Thank you. Blessing to you and your family. People really don't understand not being able to visit. Luckily we were able to text to stay in touch. When we went to the hospital we joked that she would have to be tested for this thing called COVID. When I left her in ER, I had no idea I would not be seeing her the next day. The next day they closed the State.
I'm good with you getting your Maverick before me. 🙂

It's utterly gut-wrenching. People don't realise the sacrifice it is. (We stayed in touch via texting too. When the doctor called and told me my spouse's heart had stopped for several minutes, I thought she was about to say spouse hadn't survived.) Holler when you get your vehicle. May yours be a sweet ride!

Sorry for your loss.... I think what makes this all the more frustrating is the average person buys maybe 5 or 10 new vehicles during their life time and that is likely a maximum. I have only bought new since starting to work full time and supporting myself and I am only on 6 or so... and that is counting a few I bought for my wife and a quicker than usual for me change when we had kids coming.

I would hope the average car sales man would sell that more than that many in a year. I know I have read stories about people with rare medical conditions who research the issue and know more than their general doctor, but those are generally rare conditions which number in hundreds or maybe thousands world wide, etc...

You would expect that something as common and ordering a new car would be something your car dealer would know better than you do.

The number of hate phones myself and co-workers received from family/friends when they couldn't see their loved one was horrible, It was out of our hands I and other wanted families in the hospital.

Being new to this group. I'm not all familiar with how ordering works. I placed my order on 10/08. What does this mean for me?
Back of the line buddy!!!
Unless you ordered an EcoBoost than you’ll likely get scheduled and be tar n feathered.

Probably should take this off topic. This will be my last post on this subject. The first time I was able to visit, you know when she was likely to die the first time, I was able to spend the night. Her vitals improved. I was then told to leave. The hospital was empty. It was heartbreaking. I couldn't visit again until that last day. I really didn't think she was going die. I arrived at about 10 am. Finally saw her about 11 am. Gone at 6pm. She was diagnosed Nov. 22, 2019 and gone April 20, 2020.

I did, but I think I'm much more likely to be tarred and feathered before I get a truck!

Would be nice if they had an idea of volume to be scheduled.
