Spotted another Maverick towing a scamp trailer camper

I was just finishing a 5 day beach detecting/camping trip and was about to start a 7 hour trip back home, when I saw this Mav towing a scamp pull into the campground. its a 4k ecoboost and the Scamp weighs 1800lbs and she got around 24mpg. BTW, I averaged almost 34 mpg, towing 900ish lbs, on this 900 mile round trip. Love it.

How do you like the sylvansport go? I was looking at one a few years ago and never pulled the trigger.

Overall I like it. It does get super hot in the summer texas sun, but any tent will, so you find shade. I've heard of some people that take small room ACs. I've seen some southern owners paint the roof and wall white, supposed to make a huge difference. I have a scooter that I trailer sometimes , it works great for that. I really like it in the winter fall. A small "office" heater warms the interior up nicely, if you need it. If you kayak, bike or go hunting with an ATV, this thing is perfect. Nice. I might check them out again. Trying to figure out if I still want to tent camp or if I want to move up to something like the Scamp.

Nice! When we had a 1500cc Goldwing trike we also had an Aspen popup trailer, and it was good; super-easy to pull and set up, but after selling the trike we decided to let the Aspen go, too, and have a 12' X 16' large tent that will fit easily into the Maverick (which we pick up tomorrow, finally!). When we're finally done with tent camping we'll look into something else.

We bought a '23 Scamp deluxe last year. Fully loaded for a week trip it weighed 2850 pounds. We got 22 mpg with our 4K tow package.

22-24 mpg with a Scamp, wow. Pains me a bit to pull my full-height at 14 mpg max. Then again, the gas savings probably does not make up for the fact the Scamp would've taken over a year to get and cost nearly twice as much $

wow, indeed.

what towing speed? has to be 60 and under. there is absolutely no way you could tow that on the interstate going 70-75 and get 24mpg.

With the Mav I'll be happy with 18-20 mpg that I got pulling this with my Bronco Sport. (2,080 pounds dry). We had a 7 mpg motorhome before it though.

The ford Transit Connect in the video pic, was an Ecoboost w/8 speed. I got 22-25 mpg towing 1000ish pounds.

For me to get 22 mpg with my Scamp, I was driving 60-65 mph. No need to go faster in our retirement.
