I've also had all three, I liked a hard tri-fold best, and soft rolling comes in second.
Wasn't a huge fan of soft tri-fold.

I'd love to hear your take on it.

I've got the Ford branded soft tri-fold. It's coming loose at the corner right behind the driver seat. Any easy fix? I was thinking maybe heat it up with a hair dryer and push it back into the track?

Yes, I really did have all 3. But I gave the soft tri-fold to the owner of the orange Maverick. So I am down to 2. Haha

Great video. Curious if you have any suggestions on a tonneau solution that works well with bed racks for carrying a kayak? The only thing I have seen if the TruXedo cover and Elevate racks. Pretty pricey and hoping there is a good alternative.

I have only seen expensive solutions to that problem myself. I guess, you can hack up a soft roll up but it might be more effort than it would be worth.

These are all so subjective for what your looking for and what your looking to spend. Pick what fits your budget and how you might want to utilize it in the future.

My $0.02 >
HUGE fan of my BAKflip MX4.

My Bullets for Tri-Fold:
  • Security
  • Snow / Strength
  • Quality/Longevity
  • Max cargo room when open
  • Functionality: Closed - 2/3rds open - Fully Open

Thanks for the information. I'm sure many members would like to have has much information about what type of tonneau cover they're thinking of purchasing.
My experience has only been with the BAKflip MX4 trifold and I'm quite satisfied with it. I had it on my previous truck (Colorado) and was very happy with it. My only con is how it covers up the rear window when folded all the way back. Curious to hear from anyone who has the hard roll-up. Takes up less of the rear window, but I'm not sure if it can be pushed back incrementally as can the tri-fold.

I've had soft covers on past pickus, but decided to try an Amazon hard tri-fold that was on sale-

I like how it looks, and how quiet it is, with no flapping...

I usually drive around with an empty bed, so really didn't need the top of the line.

I do really appreciate the cover though, especially when dealing with a cross wind, and big rigs on the freeway.

It made my truck much more stable...

I got a soft Tri-Fold for less than 1/2 price (a little work involved).
Sorry for the short story, but I was looking for a Hard Tri-Fold. I was scouring the upcoming Black Friday deals. I decided to check Facebook Marketplace and found a (new in the box) soft tri-fold for $100. (abut $150 new). I offered $80 and he accepted. Checked it out, it was new, had hardware and all, so I took it home. When trying to install, I discovered it was missing the rear clamps (see photo). Called the dude back and asked to return it. He offered to zelle me $50 and I could keep the Cover as it was no good to either of us. Now the directions & the box had no info on the manufacturer to get the missing parts (no luck). So I got on ebay and started contacting sellers to get info or parts (no luck there either).

Then I found exactly what I needed for $18.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/296043851502.
Now waiting for the new parts.

I wanted a Cover that did not have side rails and could be completely removed very quickly which is exactly what the tri-fold provides. I still would much rather have the hard type (about $400), but I couldn't pass on the el-cheapo deal that I found for only $50 total. I will get a hard type later if I even like having a cover at all. 99% of the time, I only haul air (like everyone else).
I will post some photos when I get the cover installed. See post #40

That's what I have on my 2023. I wonder how much snow it will hold without sagging? Do you use any kind of treatment to repel water. I was thinking of trying something for boat covers.

Can you tell me why you like this particular roll up tunnel top over anything else or is it just what you got from the dealer?
I bought the truck used(low miles)and that cover was installed by the original owner. After you figure out how to use it and stretch and fasten the Velcro sides, it fits very well. The wind flops it some wile driving on very windy days.

I use 303 Protectant, it seems to work pretty well.
It doesn't sag much with snow, but there hasn't been a whole lot where I'm at. It is braced at each fold so it's not like you're stretching a piece of fabric over nothing. It does tend flap in the wind which drives me crazy.
I brought it inside to try the hairdryer and it looks like the piece that connects it to the track is cracked. I'm going to try a warranty claim on it since it's supposed to be under warranty until the factory warranty expires.
