Hi Folks,

I’m looking to buy the 2025 AWD Hybrid, but I’m hesitant about adding the 4K towing package.

I’m quite sure I’ll never need more than the standard 2,000-pound towing capacity versus the 4,000 pounds with the 4K package.

How does this impact resale value? Will it significantly affect the resale of the Maverick?

I’m also curious about the statistics—how many people actually add the 4K package on their AWD models? When I asked ChatGPT, it reported that only 9% to 12% do.

What do you think?
I have alot of toys to tow,so the 4k towing was needed. That being said,it would help resale value, and, if you keep your truck for several years it's nice to know you can tow that much if you need it down the road.also, the package ads additional heavy duty components, that ads to general longevity of the vehicle.

Best 800 bucks on the option list. The extra coolers bigger radiator, lower gear ratio, brake controller are worth every penny. It would cost 5 times that to do all that aftermarket. Anybody that says otherwise never built a vehicle.

For $750 get the tow package, you never know what you may want to tow as well as resale. Getting the tranny cooler & better radiator will always be a good thing.

Waste of money! Forced to buy extra copilot package too. Almost $2k of mediocre features, get the FX4!

It's worth it just for the extra Transmission fluid cooling. I monitor my ATF Temps and they rarely go over 200°f even in the hot summer in the mountains. With no serviceable filter for the 8f35 transmission, fluid quality is very important and the less chance of you turning the ATF acidic, the more life you get out of the transmission.

Resale will depend on when you sell it. If you trade in a year or two, it will probably help resale value but still may not recover full amount of the option. Resale values have too many factors to get specific on one particular option.

If you plan to keep it for 10+ years. Options don't really matter at that point. Mileage and condition matter way more than any particular option. May get a few dollars more for a well optioned vehicle, but never will recover the full purchase price of any option.

FX4 package isn’t a available on the hybrid model, only EcoBoost.
All the more reason not to buy a hybrid! Takes you about ~35k miles to recoup the extra money to get a hybrid AWD in fuel costs anyway.

I wish I had it on my 22. At the time I didn't need to tow anything. We then thought maybe we would like a small travel trailer. Traded in my 22 for a 25 with AWD and 4k package. It just makes the Maverick that much more versatile!

That doesn't make much sense. The hybrid doesn't cost more than the EcoBoost. You will be saving money right away. The AWD on the hybrid is still good for what most use the Maverick for.

for the $800 you get parts and features that cost more than that if you tried to add them on your own, plus some simply can't be done after it's built. so yes, it's worth it. you may be happy some day you have it, or you'll regret you didn't when you could.
It's better to have what you don't need, then to need what you don't have!

It costs an additional sum to get a hybrid AWD then it does the eco boost yes. Getting that package, in XLT for example, is an additional 1700$. Imagine how long that will take to recoup fuel costs if you live outside a city, no thanks!!!

Mine is a 23 hybrid. I did add the tow hitch since I do tow my 5.5x8 aluminum trailer regularly.
Didn't add the 4K package. Just didn't see any need for it.
I don't tow more than 2000-2500 lbs. On the rare occasion that I might have to tow a higher load I would probably figure out borrowing someone's F150.
Saving the package cost and gas mileage seemed smarter for me.

Ford was a bit sneaky on this one. The Base price of the two is the same, yes. But there's a big "however" here.

EcoBoost requires AWD, which is a $575 option (I'm looking at that right now at Ford.com). MSRP $27,570 (excluding shipping & aquisition fee)

Hybrid is FWD, with AWD as a $2220 option. MSRP w/AWD $29,215

Therefore, when you equip both with AWD and no other options, the Ecoboost is $1,645 cheaper.

Note that this changed recently. I had looked at this exact thing on Ford.com on February 5th. At that time, AWD was a $1020 required option on EcoBoost (making the hybrid awd $1200 more expensive). With the recent base price increase, ford decreased the AWD option from $1020 to $575 for the Ecoboost to maintain the same price point, whereas the price of the hybrid increased overall.

I live in the desert... was going to need at least the hitch.. so that's $100.... For $650 more I got a brake controller, and many improvements to engine and transmission cooling... For me, living in the desert, but towing (even if below 2k lbs) at elevation... the 4K Tow package was cheap drivetrain insurance...

There is the slightly lower drive ratio (which I believe is now standard across all EB AWD for 2025, no?), but I upgraded 245 tires, so the increased diameter brings the engine rpm to miles traveled about the same again.
