I’m questioning the differences as well. Seems like the 4K package just adds a transmission cooler, brake controller and the 7 pin harness. The lead engineer in an interview with TFL Truck said that both the 4K and FX4 packages have the same final drive gearing of 3.81. TFL MAVERICK DEEP DIVE

The final drive is different between the FX4 and 4K. Mine Mav has both options, but since I have no plans on pulling with it. The 4K option wasn’t needed, but I had to accept what I found on the lot. In my opinion the decision to go with 4K or not is if you are planing on pulling more than 2K. if you exceed the trucks total load limitation and get in an accident your insurance will not cover you.

I have to be very careful with my 3/4 diesel, the only difference between my 3/4 and the 1 ton is brakes and one added Leif spring. My insurance still said they still follow the load limits inside the drivers door.

Anyone else looking at these 2 options and think they are redundant? Both have trailer hitch, and upgraded radiator and cooling fan. Both are available together, so feels like it should be discounted. I definitely want the FX4 equipment , and wondering if the 4K tow is worth another $800 for 7-pin trailer wiring (vs 4-pin on FX4) and a trans cooler. The most I can see myself towing is 2 ATVs or 2 yards of mulch
Ok so what about the other way. Other than the tow hooks on the front and the under body protection (albeit plastic and something I would probably replace) is there anything the Fx4 package offers that the tow doesn't? Oh and tires, but I would buy the fallen wildpeaks over the pirellis anyway. Idk why they did that.

FX4 has mono tube shocks instead of twin tube on everything else

I got both 4k and FX.

I want the Sand mode after watching some videos of guys getting stuck in deep snow with Slippery then powering through in Sand mode. Worth it just for that. Not planning on hacking it with Forscan under warranty

Also like the light duty Pirelli AT over the Conti or Michelin Primacy. Not interested in the chunkier Wildpeaks. Just add noise and less precise handling. Got a unibody to get a break from my body on frame trucks with chunky AT's. Will get Blizzaks for winter anyway

I agree about the tow hooks appearance, I ordered a 4K w/o the FX pkg because I mainly wanted the tranny cooler and larger radiator. No plans nor need for the skid plates since I won’t take it off road. I am betting on the fact that the tow hooks can be added later.
Per a utube video the frame support for the hooks is lacking on some maverick models. Likely the hybrid but I forget the video details
