Yep not a chanceWeathertech sells a "rock and bug deflector" that supposedly creates a wind barrier, but I highly doubt it would produce enough wind to stop a rock.

And it must add some serious aerodynamic drag.Weathertech sells a "rock and bug deflector" that supposedly creates a wind barrier, but I highly doubt it would produce enough wind to stop a rock.
Is that why my truck does wheelies when I floor it?And it must add some serious aerodynamic drag.
yes, run a pen or sharp pencil along the entire crack, if it hangs up in a spot, that is where the rock hit. Unfortunate, but sh#t happens. When I was 18 and $100 was alot of money I had my cracked for a year windshield replaced, 2Hours later on highway to college classes, rock hit and made a crack worse than the original.Well, I rolled a new 2025 XL off the lot on Monday and 24 hours later while stuck in traffic a big old stress crack pops across the windshield from the bottom.
I roll into the service bay this morning and the tech looks at the windshield for about half a second and tells me I caught a rock, and he can tell because of a flakes along the crack. To me, flakes along a crack on the top surface are a clear marker of low quality glass. In any case, they're putting their foot down and telling me Ford Canada absolutely won't cover it because it failed a "pen test."
So now I've gotta get my insurance involved on a policy that's less than a day old. It sucks being at the corner of a weird triangle between me and the dealership's service and sales department.
To top it off, the glass is backordered and has no ETA. Anyway, hope everyone else's day is going better than mine.

I feel like that could just be a bad dealer. I would check with another. The motor should be covered in the bumper to bumper warranty.Glass is not factory covered..I actually got a broken motor on my folding mirror ( Raptor) that I missed when I picked up the brand new Raptor. Dealer would not covered because Ford doesnt cover glass..perior. So mirror, mirror case, mirror motor is considered glass ..If my mirror was not covered on 100k truck I have my doubts windshield on a 30k truck is.
Most insurance policies has free glass tho
i spoke with district Ford representative directly. Dealership patched me through. I ended up getting a new mirror from the dealership tho. What they did , they purchased one, installed it on my truck and returned mine to warehouse as defective . They didnt understand it either and were really embarassed but every warranty work has to be approve by Ford or they dont get paidI feel like that could just be a bad dealer. Should be fixed under warranty.cracked windshield with in 3 months.![]()
How true, between windshields and a nail in the tire, "but it's only 2 weeks old"When I first got my Jeep Gladiator, you know what was one of the most popular threads in the Gladiator forums? Chipped/Cracked windshields.
Do you tailgate? How close do you follow other vehicles on the highway? (Knock on wood) I've never cracked either of my windshields on my Gladiator or Maverick, and I contribute that to maintaining a safe, at least 2 seconds, distance from the vehicle in front of me.
Does random stuff happen? Sure. But I truly believe our own actions can minimize the risk of cracked/chipped windshields.
