Just had a handful of the Lasfits that I bought just over a year ago fail. The cargo lamps were the first to go (within warranty) and the side marker and reverse lights went next.
Still have the lasfit switchback DRLs and the third brake light, but I'm expecting that their days are numbered...
I hate it, but I find myself just using the voice controls to switch to FM. Most of the time I'm using CarPlay, but when I want to know the traffic or listen to the news, I just hit the sync button and say "Tune to FM 91.5" - I shouldn't have to, but it works well enough that I don't mess around...
I’m in Canada and I had a whole month this winter that never got above -15°C/5°F and I didn’t miss out on not having a block heater on my hybrid. FordPass remote start fifteen minutes early and the cab was always toasty warm. The engine never struggled.
The only issues I had were when FordPass...
Installed the replacement NMO mount, upgraded version, today. Much more secure mount that didn’t require drilling holes. It’s unfortunate that the holes are already drilled from the first time, but oh well.
It’s powder-coated right to the NMO mount, and there’s no bare metal.
I think this one...
Update! Positive news from Bulletproof diesel: I reached out today with the above photos, and they advised that there is an updated version with no bare metal, and it’s black paint right up to the NMO connector. I’m going to try that version and see how it goes. I’m hopeful, because everything...
This is after less than a year. I get regular car washes and never let salt sit on the frame. I also use an NMO gasket; the internal corrosion seems to be from condensation. There’s never any standing moisture in there. I use a Larsen weather cap when going through a car wash, and I make sure...
Well, having LED cargo lights is definitely worth it.
I won’t buy the lasfit again, though. It took less than a year and an L-T15 has failed. It took three weeks for them to reply to the warranty request, and they refuse to send the replacement to Canada even at my expense. They’re refunding me...
Whatever you do, DON’T buy the rockauto-recommended Trico Neoform 162115 21 OE and 162213 22 OE.
They’re much too narrow for the Maverick connect mechanism, and don’t include multiple adapters. When I tried to get a refund, rockauto stonewalled me and said that the manufacturer made the mistake...
Yeah, there are definitely reliability issues, and it seems to more reliably fail just before morning rush hour.
I work weird shifts which have me leaving at all times of day 7 days a week. Mid morning and afternoon there are never issues. 7:30am on a cold day? It times out, every single time...
You have to learn to love the holes!
that said, the Bulletpoint rear brake mount NMO antenna adapter that I installed to avoid holes and corrosion has itself started to corrode in its first winter salt, despite regular car washes.
Not super-thrilled considering how much it cost.
I’m sure. 25MY, AGM battery, never deep sleep issues or symptoms. Between 6:30-8:30am eastern time, remote start rarely works. Great before and after. Seems like they’ve got limited server capacity or cell network issues and they’re not able to support the number of clients that they have.
