Just about to take our 22 hybrid in for vibration at 50-60mph, sounds like it is cv joints from looking here, will tell them to check it. Rolling in just under the warranty mileage at 35,500!

I’m curious of who builds, or supplier of these CVs shafts. And what lube used to grease them.

And not learning of what’s their failure. Worn? Or boots busted, spewing lube grease, but joints ok. I wonder if they could be simple torn down, inspected, and if no grease or wear, could they be re-lubed, new boots added.

Think of packing wheel bearings effects.

Several people who have had the issue looked and took photos of the CVs, they were leaking. The question is, why? That we may never know.

Why are they leaking, too options. Ford found the cheapest supplier they possibly could and they are just junk. Option two, design flaw and Ford thinks it's cheaper to just replace them than design a new part. Considering this is happening to 22, 23s and some 24s, the later seems like a likely scenario.

My hybrid has 19k miles and mine needs CV axles. It vibrates when accelerating. Not impressed.

Someone on here said there was a bearing issue as well that’s by the hub where the axles mount into. I’m thinking of ordering a set of axles to have on standby.
