Windshield failure in new 2025 XL

If the windshield is cracked and not the result of a rock chip - it should be replaced under warranty in the first 12k miles or 12 months.

Have you considered upgrading to the acoustic glass windshield that they put in the Lariat? I think the price difference is only about $150. Might be worth it for the better quality and the noise dampening. And it may be in stock too. Definitely worth asking about.

Funny I thought the Lariats had the most problems, my 24 EB included. My 24 Lariat never got a chip though (over almost a year and 18k). We'll see on my new 25 XLT...

Very true about being rock magnets, I'm in line for my second appointment for rock chips in 2 months and I haven't had this for a year yet.

When I had my h3 Hummer which basically had a flat windshield like a Jeep it had the original windshield with maybe two chips in it after 7 years and 150 something thousand miles on it. The h3 sat higher but not by much than the Maverick.

Owned the truck for just under 3 weeks, and it finally stop raining long enough for me to wash the truck for the first time and, I found this crack in the windshield while drying the car.

No impact mark. Now I need to get to the local Ford dealership to see if they will replace it.

Take a pencil and run down the crack if it stops anywhere, that is where the impact chip is.

I don’t know if that’s universal for 2025 , cause I just tried to have the windshield in my 25 xlt replaced with the Lariat glass. Even called the glass place that the dealer uses and it sounded like they can’t switch them.

People on here have talked about the windshield being more upright than other vehicles. It is a strange phenomenon. The roads are definitely getting crappier so that could be a reason too.

The windshield on the Mav is no more upright than a TON of other vehicles. That being said… a year and three months of ownership and I’m on rock chip number four. I repaired all four myself. Two of them came from one shitty stretch of highway that a couple of my friends also took hits on. They’ve cleaned the road since. It’s not the angle of the windshield.

I have a 2024 Maverick in 6 months went thru 4 windshields! Some were stress cracks due to heat and cold I believe and 2 were rock chips the grew quickly in a week. My insurance says no more windshield coverage. Do not have state farm anymore!

Would those wind / bug deflectors help if this was actually a rock (which I highly doubt it was). I was debating on getting one based on how many people have issues with the maverick glass but I don't know if it would actually help.

Im getting close to 10K after 2 years which isnt much but at the risk of jinxing it I have not had any issues with rocks and I do have a hood deflector . Its not very prominent and got it mostly for the hood paint but I love the aesthetic.

my windshield got destroyed about a year in ownership,I was meeting a compact truck and out of nowhere a fairly large rock flew horizontally,bam ,it hit so hard the dash was covered with glass shards( I will never recommend "safelight" as a windshield replacer) the only thing I can figure there was somebody hiding in the brush and rocking vehicles,had the windshield replaced privately for about a third of the cost of "safelight",privately, the only trouble is it pops and cracks upon moving the vehicle on a cold morning if the windshield had not been laminated I believe the rock would have came through.
