I am going to be 75 years old in a few weeks,. I do not want to have to crawl down in my car or to have to crawl out. I presently drive a dodge minivan, that I love. One of the reason I love it it is because it i high off the ground so it is easy to get in and out. in addition this give me better visibility around when I drive. I wanted to raise my soon coming maverick but because of the cv joints issues I might not do it. I probably just install the tallest tires in can install without rubbing.
Smart man!

I wouldn't mind another inch or two on my Tremor. I live in the country, so ground clearance is important when running the logging roads. A small truck with good ground clearance can go about anywhere around here. 😬

I did it for the looks. A Maverick just looks right lowered. As an added benefit, my mother whose 84 loves how easy it is to get in and out of. As a matter fact she want to buy her own and have me lower it.

I love lowered vehicles. The Maverick was built to be lowered! However, the whole reason I got the Maverick was because it is a truck and it sits higher than the standard car. My work requires me to have to visit off-road sites with high weeds and brush and my low profile 2015 Prius was getting ruined underneath. Off road areas with pits, dips and bumps was a joke to drive over.

With the Maverick I have the clearance.

Getting in and out of the Prius was getting harder and harder due to it being close to the ground. The Maverick is at just the right height that I can get out of it with ease.

That all being said, the Maverick truly is just looks so awesome when lowered!!!

Handles better looks better and the Eibach springs I installed did not change the ride at all and easy to get in or out.

Most of the time when I am driving mine around, I am on the INSIDE. The geegaws and foofraws and rims and trim and tailgate letters and side marker changes are lost. And unlike the phony commercials where heads snap around as you go by, nobody else notices, nobody else cares.

The car manufacturers spend millions of dollars and countless hours balancing between the ride quality and safety. I personally would not mess with it until the Maverick was past 150000 miles.
Alot of good old mechanics say not to change stock factory items.
I understand why people install the lifts for off roading and pride but the lowering thing, I will never understand.

I totally agree! The lower look on the Mav looks weird to me. The Mav is not a sports car.

Do people's head snap as you go by in your slingshot?

Please help me understand why you would "lower" or "raise" your Maverick?

Is it something the younger owners do?
Do you enter in car shows?
Does lowering affect the ride quality?
Is it for the "coolness factor"?

I'm just a few weeks shy of 65, and have owned many family and business vehicles over the course of my lifetime. I never considered raising nor lowering any of them. My hybrid Lariat Mav is the only vehicle I ever spent money on accessories on because I plan on keeping it for the long haul, but raising nor lowering never crossed my mind.
Good question! Each version has negatives and would seem to defeat some of the benefits of the Mav. For me, it's all about utility and basic use.

Yes, when I want that I'll use my Miata where my ass is close to the ground. But, Because of the short wheelbase it can handle my long, rough driveway.

For exploring and having fun ,like this!

higher clearance and bigger tires go over obstacles better and air down for better flotation on soft surfaces .
The reason I bought a Tremor package , just need a little more height and tire ( for the clearance)
The ranger is not independent rear suspension , doesn't look as good and has less room in it since i am 6’4”

I have put on air shocks on the rear of a couple of vehicles for towing purposes . Other wise stock unless replacement needs to be done because originals wore out .
