2024 Blue XL Hybrid is to Be Built in Dec. This will be my 4th Mav. I will be declining the order if any one wants it. I don't want a dime. I just hate to see the dealer get it. I sold two Mavs Reason I am a capitalist Pig. When dealers Offer 12 to 13 K over the price I Paid it is No Brainier. I Borrowed 50K on a secured Note at a insanely low interest rate three years ago.( Made cash on That. I let that grow in a CD account that the interest rate jump through the roof on.) I paid Cash for the Mavs then sold them to dealers almost immediately for 11 to 13 K over what I had paid for them. The 3rd 2023 was essentially free. I am keeping it. Please dont hate. IF you want the blue one. It Will be in Dallas sometime ind Dec or Jan. Just yell

Haven't and don't plan on it.

It's a first truck for a lot of people and there are trade offs. A portion of folks don't like those trade offs. As @bgn has pointed out - it is Ford's least expensive vehicle. I believe it to be solidly built but it is missing insulation, sound deadening, soft touch materials on the dash, etc. I don't mind but many do.

The decision to sell a Ford Maverick is a multifaceted one, influenced by changing needs, technological advancements, financial considerations, environmental consciousness, and market dynamics. While parting with a beloved vehicle can be bittersweet, it often represents a strategic and pragmatic choice aligned with the evolving preferences and circumstances of the owner. As the automotive landscape continues to evolve, the reasons behind selling a Ford Maverick will likely remain diverse and reflective of the dynamic nature of individual lifestyles and priorities.
I dunno about that. I tend to maintain my vehicles well, and keep my vehicles forever. Where I live it's a dry climate so no rock salt and brine to rust anything out. I still have my 94 chevy silverado. I drove it 3 days ago as a matter of fact. Still runs great. My 2007 mustang GT ditto as well. I plan to do the same with the Maverick. I research to death what I want, then I dont get rid of it. These 3 vehicles fit the different needs that I have. Maverick makes a fantastic economical daily driver. In some ways it reminds me of my 94 silverado. That truck also has all hard dash plastics , soft touch arm rests, cloth seats.

Trucks are not cars. Lately though the carmakers try to frill them up like cars inside. I mean a new Ram Laramie SLT Big Horn edition is truly a cowboy Cadillac inside. It's a beautiful vehicle. But you pay dearly for all that niceness. You could get 2 ecoboost AWD XLT mavericks for the price of one of those. Honestly I could care less about the hard plastics vs soft touch materials. Price, utility, fuel economy, AWD, and attractiveness was what I was concerned about. It hit the mark on all of it.

Good points Matt. My post was a reply to a question I posed to ChatGPT. I asked the AI to write a paragraph on why people sell their Mavericks. As you might expect, it was full of rhetoric and not much substance.

EDIT: This was the response I got when I asked ChatGPT to write a paragraph on why people sell their Mavericks. Here's the response I got when I asked it why people don't sell their Mavericks:

"People may choose not to sell their Ford Maverick trucks for a variety of reasons. The Ford Maverick has gained popularity for its compact size, fuel efficiency, and versatile design, making it an appealing choice for individuals who prioritize practicality and functionality in a vehicle. Owners may appreciate the truck's affordability, making it a cost-effective option for those on a budget. Additionally, the Maverick's innovative hybrid powertrain technology distinguishes it in the market, attracting environmentally conscious consumers. The truck's sleek design and modern features further contribute to its desirability. As a result, owners may find it challenging to part ways with a vehicle that seamlessly combines efficiency, affordability, and contemporary design, creating a strong incentive to hold onto their Ford Maverick trucks."

So you got a trailer hitch and $3k for the trouble. Not bad.
Also got a brand new Maverick with new 3/5/8 year warranties whereas the 2022 had used up 1 3/4 years of the initial warranties.

Also no wear and tear on tires as they are new compared to the 9,269 miles used on the 2022.

And the best part is no Recalls or TSBs for my new 2023.

The AI forgot about the Maverick's "Flat tow-ability", which is another big positive.

The market currently contains no other sub-4000 lb, 4 door, 40 mpg vehicle, with a truck bed that can be flat-towed....at any price.

Why is this thread still here ?
If I became not happy and sold my Mav then went with another car, truck or company
I wouldn’t feel the need to explain myself.
I’d just vanish from MTC

You may not be aware, but the recent changes to the Geneva Convention removed the requirement that you must read every post on an Internet forum.

I do agree with him/her though. I scrolled up the thread and saw OG was 2023 and then the resurrecting post wasn't even on topic it was a reply to a post about AI 😂.

I guess since this is now a nonsense thread I'll take a moment to post about it and other nonsense topics I've seen lately...

- AI said X, but I still had to use my own brain, why?
I know it's painful to use the thing between your ears but AI isn't a staples easy button for life.

- Why is my new car not worth more than retail?
Please buy a book on economics and finance. But an actual book by an actual credited author vs just reading random crap on the net about $$$.

-
My trade in value on my <25 for a new 25 isn't making up for the price difference.?
See the answer above and additionally find a local Math class to attend.

If you are reading this and get offended then I've done my job right, you're welcome! 😀

This is my first truck beyond our minivan, which is larger than the Mav. Around town so far, I'll say that the Mav is quieter than the Prius V I traded in, much quieter actually and quite pleasant. I've thought about soft touch materials, and honestly, in all my years of car ownership, I've found that I never once fondled my dash while driving (or sitting), so I'm completely OK with it being plastic. Other than that, I've really like how the Mav drives so far.

My only concern is things like partial wheel well liners and such. I don't drive a lot of miles, so my bigger concern is rust rotting things away (most of the problems I had with the Prius V were rust related). I hope to generously apply fluid film, unfortunately my Mav was ready the day after snow, so the roads are covered in salt still and it's been teens to single digit temps 😞 I hope it warms up some so I can apply some fluid film.

Yeah I did not get the full fluid film application I wanted and it is getting blasted with salt. But I did get the rear cavity and rear end as well as I could.

Since 2020 I have driven a 2018 Subaru Forester, 2021 CRV Touring Hybrid, 22 Bronco base Sasquatch, 22 Tesla model 3 LR, 23 Maverick Tremor, 24 Honda Civic EX and now my 25 Hybrid Lariat.

I wouldn’t have come back to the Maverick if I didn’t truly enjoy driving and being in it daily. I fit in Fords and the Maverick extremely well.

Like you I am not bothered by hard plastics though I wish they were more scratch resistant overall I find the interior of my Maverick to be nicer than all of the aforementioned vehicles with the exception of the model 3 which it is on par with.

It’s why I laugh when people say “it’s a 20k truck” or “cheap interior” and then when asked what vehicles compare or what 20-25k vehicles are comparable to a Maverick that makes its current price too much - crickets….

Wholly crap, you go through cars like I go through underwe...... wait, nevermind 😆 but really, that's more cars than i owned in the past 30 years.

I hope to get the rear cavity before in snows in a couple of days. I have the cavity shield coming today too, but it's also a busy day so we'll see if I have the time 😞
