My last truck, f150, set in the driveway because it was too much effort to fit in the garage. Plus, it was only used a few thousand miles a year. My other ride was a 3 series bmw. Sold both and bought the mav. It fits in the garage no problem, fills my limited truck needs, gets about the same mileage as the 3 series and is more fun to drive than either.

I will order a 2023 Maverick hybrid because I want to transition into a vehicle that gets above 30 mpg for my daily commute. The way Ford currently prices these (excluding ADM) makes it the cheapest hybrid vehicle available in North America currently, which has value to me. I don’t need a truck. I hardly have use for a vehicle that does truck things. But I like the size of it, it seems roomy enough for me and my son to grow into. I enjoy the features it does have and don’t really miss anything that it doesn’t offer that you would find in more premium vehicles.

Ultimately, for me it just comes down to dollar value per performance. The entry cost is good for me (under $30k), the gas mileage is better than the Ford Escape I had previously, and with the current market, spending $$$ on NEW just seems like a better bet than buying used right now. And I appreciate the warranty that comes with a new vehicle purchase.

I’ve never owned a truck in my life. I’ve owned mostly sports cars but had a Jeep and a Prius. My ‘16 GT350 had been my daily for 6 years until the Maverick. When I sold my Jeep but kept the GT350 I realized I needed practicality and driveability under all road conditions. My Mav (an XLT with the tow and fx4 paks) checks all the boxes. I’ve had the Mav for a month and couldn’t be happier.

Well I currently drive an F 150 the thing is huge and gets poor mpg. I had a Honda CRZ that I wrecked which was great to run errands commute to work. This kind of melds them together. If I still had the Honda I probably would have held off. That car had 250K ran perfectly still pissed at myself. 44 mpg.

Late 20’s here there’s a couple reasons we went with the maverick.
1. We used to own a 94 ranger (& honestly should have never sold it, that thing was bulletproof) we loved the ranger but when we left college having to deal with a truck with no power steering and no air conditioning and barely 90 horsepower lost its appeal.
2. We were lucky enough to buy a house mid pandemic and have gotten to the point that we desperately need a truck for things like plywood, ovens, mulch etc. (a lumber hauler my BMW is not!)
3. While we need a truck we also have to commute 60miles round tip each day and even the best gas sipping Tacoma would eat us alive in fuel cost. (though again I may not have much room to talk considering my bimmer averages 27 which for where we live in the mountains isn’t bad)
4. We simply didn’t need anything bigger, part of why we loved the ranger we had so much was its size it was perfect for us, no kids or even dogs to cart around we simply don’t need big cars and definitely don’t need a full size truck.
5. Price we optioned out to just under 29K which compared to any full size truck in our area is a steal, most full size trucks in our area are averaging 60-80K minimum.

I operate a small business. This requires me driving a LOT and visiting hundreds of different addresses a year. My equipment demands a truck bed but using and maintaining it effectively requires an easily accessible bed. Full size trucks not only sit too high for convenience, they're also expensive, less maneuverable at residential sites and not exactly fuel efficient. Up until this point I've maintained a few older Rangers which are pretty perfect for the job other than the abysmal fuel economy. (Even new Rangers sit up too high now and have been turned into overpriced SUVs) The Mav is near perfect for my applications: it's inexpensive, it sits low and the hybrid has fantastic fuel economy. The only concession I'm making is the bed size; I wish it had a 2 door variant with a bigger bed, but I've graphed it out and can make it work. Other than that, I tow a little 13 foot vintage camper about 30 miles to the shore of Lake Michigan once a year.

The whole idea of the Maverick caught my attention when it was first released. I was intrigued, but not looking to buy another vehicle. I love my coupe, it runs like a scalded dog, and it's long been paid off ;) With thoughts of retiring in about 5 years, I thought maybe it would be smart to have a "truck" once again. I thought about possibly buying an Airstream Basecamp trailer so the wife and I could travel and check off another bucket list item by attending a game in every MLB stadium (9 down so far). I also live on 10 acres and am tired of hauling limbs, brush, and cut up trees by hand to my brush pile (yes, I could just buy a Mule, but that wouldn't tow a camper). The Hybrid was initially appealing, but after some thought it was decided to not be too practical for what I would want it to do. I still like to snow ski, so AWD was added. I loaded my Ecoboost order up with all the bells and whistles, FX4, tow pacckage, Lariat Lux package, etc.... for about $36K. A new full sized truck with everything on it I would want would cost almost double that ;) Plus, the Mav will fit in my garage too. So there it is! I hope I get it before I retire ;)

I loved every second of this story up until the plot twist at the end where you don't actually have your Maverick yet. That hit me hard 😭😭😭

I ordered the truck because this is a PITA. Can’t wait to not have to tie my gear to the roof!

My 1st Maverick came to me unexpectedly. I worked at a Lincoln Mercury dealer when I still had dark hair (before my first marriage). For a while, I was in the Leasing and Rental Division, which shared a large space with the Finance people.

The Mav was repossessed from someone that was down on their luck. The right front fender had a football sized dent, the exhaust was damaged, the passenger front door glass was broken, and it was filthy. The Finance Manager offered it to me for what was owed on it. $139.00 SOLD!

Body shop, glass company, fluff and buff, exhaust, tires.=nice car! Maverick had unusual names for their colors. The green was called Anti-Establish Mint. I called it excre-mint.
That Was a great deal. I bought mine off my brother at age 16 for $250.00. I was going to work for him that summer and he sold it cheap as part of my pay. It only had 60000 miles. I also had green and we called it puke green.

I am saving up for a new future vehicle at the moment with the Maverick as a major want, so I will have to wait a few more years. The reason I am greatly interested in it, is that I have always admired the idea of owning & driving a pickup truck but due to their high price, poor fuel economy/gas milage, increasing build size they where practical and didn't see the need for wanting one.

The Ford Maverick has become a dream vehicle for me due to its good fuel economy for both engine options, its small size, practicality and prices though being in Canada default MSRPs are higher by a few thousand dollars. For those like me who want to own a truck, but don't often do extreme truck related activities, this truck is want that has become a realty!

Here in New Brunswick there are many rural forest, logging & fire roads I long to explore. My 1999 Honda Accord which works & looks good for its age with its low clearance is not ideal, so the Maverick would be perfect. I would only off-road when the weather is good and the dirt roads are dry enough.

I feel waiting a few more years while saving up will be worth it, as there are cost cutting measures in the Mavericks construction that resulted in dislikes from reviewers that I hope to see improved with future models like added noise insulation for the cabin, faster door window raising & lowering, better speaker quality, less jumpy transitions, etc. I even hope to see a AWD Hybrid option possibly.

26 here and this will be my "first" truck purchase. Never really been into trucks and never really had a use for them up until about two years ago. I have been a home owner for 2 years now and have had plenty of times that a "truck" would be useful but nothing requiring the current crop of full size or even mid-size trucks. Small things like runs to the local landfill, runs to the hardware store for mulch for the wife's gardening, etc all do no require full or mid-size trucks but do require something more than a car or even SUV. I have been getting by with borrowing my parents 94 Dakota.

The current full size or mid size trucks just have required to many compromises for what they offered in return (too large, poor mpg, basic features for the price tag, high price in general, etc...) for me to truly consider them as a secondary vehicle let alone a daily. The Maverick solves the majority of those issues to the point where it will become my new daily instead of being a secondary vehicle. Cheap, good on gas, decent standard features, SMALL, all play into why the Maverick will work perfectly for me.
This is literally me. I'm also 26, also a homeowner, also have lots of house projects that SUVs aren't great for. It's like you have my life 🤯

There is a local termination company that has a small fleet of ollld small pick-ups. I bet they can’t wait to get Mavericks in their fleet.
