This is exactly my concern. Is this intelligent all wheel drive PTU used across all fx4 models? Is Ford using a new PTU design for the new mavericks or the tremor?
Thank you! How do you suggest I maintain the PTU to change the fluids? If the transfer case is below the turbo I would need a lift and special tools to service it?
The actuator or motor that engages the PTU in my FX4 broke down and triggered an AWD alarm. So it was running basically on front wheel drive only. My car had only 6k miles when this broke down. Luckily it was replaced under warranty but itās a 1.3k job. Wondering what could have caused this...
Thereās nothing for me to āhateā about the Mav. Well, maybe I can bicker about the skinny tires. I actually like the boosted 2.0 with the auto tranny and Iāve driven only manual/naturally aspirated cars forever. The Mav checks all the boxes at this price point.
Only thing I dont like in my 2.0 Mav are the skinny tires which lack grip. Well, the steering is a bit light too. Then again Iām used to the 305ās and handling of the GT350!
Iāve never owned a truck in my life. Iāve owned mostly sports cars but had a Jeep and a Prius. My ā16 GT350 had been my daily for 6 years until the Maverick. When I sold my Jeep but kept the GT350 I realized I needed practicality and driveability under all road conditions. My Mav (an XLT with...
Has anyone installed in the Mav Rigid LED spotlights or a light bar? The front bumper might not be up to the task for this. Iāve seen light bars installed in roofs/with pillar bed columns in F-150ās but the Mav?
-The usual-wash & wax
-20% ceramic tint in the rear passenger side windows & legal in doors up front: no tint anywhereās else
-Ordered Truxedo lo pro soft roll up bed cover
-Steering wheel microfiber cover with matching orange accents
-Rear phone port charge plug
-2.0 turbo decal placed...
Actually a fully loaded XLT 4x4 will push you close to 34k at MSRP without adding taxes. Thatās a great value. I would think that less than 30k might get you the base XL 2 wheel drive hybrid including taxes. Paying 20k sticker for a Mav is a myth.
To all nay sayers the Maverick is a certified bona fide truck. My local Ford dealer had originally given me a license plate for a car, minivan, or SUV. Our Transportation Authority said that was in error because my Maverick (an XLT with the FX4 and tow packages) is a truck and must have a truck...
The Mav should have been reborn as an El Ranchero. Remember the 60ās and 70ās pick ups? Ford had El Ranchero and Chevy El Camino. So it is El Ranchero.
