  1. All time/Symmetrical AWD

This is exactly my concern. Is this intelligent all wheel drive PTU used across all fx4 models? Is Ford using a new PTU design for the new mavericks or the tremor?
  2. All time/Symmetrical AWD

Thank you! How do you suggest I maintain the PTU to change the fluids? If the transfer case is below the turbo I would need a lift and special tools to service it?
  3. All time/Symmetrical AWD

The actuator or motor that engages the PTU in my FX4 broke down and triggered an AWD alarm. So it was running basically on front wheel drive only. My car had only 6k miles when this broke down. Luckily it was replaced under warranty but itā€™s a 1.3k job. Wondering what could have caused this...
  4. 3 things i hate about the maverick.

Thereā€™s nothing for me to ā€œhateā€ about the Mav. Well, maybe I can bicker about the skinny tires. I actually like the boosted 2.0 with the auto tranny and Iā€™ve driven only manual/naturally aspirated cars forever. The Mav checks all the boxes at this price point.
  5. Real world fuel mileage MPG results by 2.0 EcoBoost owners - check in here

AWD + tow pak. 25 hway/18 city on regular. I donā€™t feather the pedal.
  6. Maverick vs. Tacoma

Only thing I dont like in my 2.0 Mav are the skinny tires which lack grip. Well, the steering is a bit light too. Then again Iā€™m used to the 305ā€™s and handling of the GT350!
  7. Why did you order a Maverick? What are you going to use it for?

Iā€™ve never owned a truck in my life. Iā€™ve owned mostly sports cars but had a Jeep and a Prius. My ā€˜16 GT350 had been my daily for 6 years until the Maverick. When I sold my Jeep but kept the GT350 I realized I needed practicality and driveability under all road conditions. My Mav (an XLT with...
  8. First thing you did/doing to your Mav

Has anyone installed in the Mav Rigid LED spotlights or a light bar? The front bumper might not be up to the task for this. Iā€™ve seen light bars installed in roofs/with pillar bed columns in F-150ā€™s but the Mav?
  9. First thing you did/doing to your Mav

-The usual-wash & wax -20% ceramic tint in the rear passenger side windows & legal in doors up front: no tint anywhereā€™s else -Ordered Truxedo lo pro soft roll up bed cover -Steering wheel microfiber cover with matching orange accents -Rear phone port charge plug -2.0 turbo decal placed...
  10. 2022 Maverick First Impressions Review by Consumer Reports

Actually a fully loaded XLT 4x4 will push you close to 34k at MSRP without adding taxes. Thatā€™s a great value. I would think that less than 30k might get you the base XL 2 wheel drive hybrid including taxes. Paying 20k sticker for a Mav is a myth.
  11. Auto Start Stop on XLT AWD EcoBoost?

I did not mean that you could disable it voiding the warranty or having an error light in a brand new car.
  12. Set Auto Start Stop to remember last mode?

You have to disable it every time you turn on the ignition. Bummer that you canā€™t do it permanently. For short rides stop and go turn it off.
  13. Auto Start Stop on XLT AWD EcoBoost?

Yes, and the damn thing canā€™t be permanently disabled.
  14. Should I switch to a ecoboost? AWD?

0wning my keeper GT350 and trading in a Prius V as down for the Maverick you can guess what was my first choice for the drivetrain. Really pleased.
  15. The Maverick is legally a truck!

To all nay sayers the Maverick is a certified bona fide truck. My local Ford dealer had originally given me a license plate for a car, minivan, or SUV. Our Transportation Authority said that was in error because my Maverick (an XLT with the FX4 and tow packages) is a truck and must have a truck...
  16. K&N 33-3131 drop in air filter installed on 2.0 Maverick

Would it trigger the service engine light if itā€™s running leaner or the module would self adjust?
  17. Fords choice of Maverick as a name

iā€™m an old timer Maverick driving the new Ranchero! Hence, as you say, the name.
  18. What do you (will you) miss from your old vehicle in the Maverick?

My 2016 GT350 is retired for weekend rides. The Mav is a completely different ride and mindset. More practical as a daily.
  19. What will you name your Maverick

The Mav should have been reborn as an El Ranchero. Remember the 60ā€™s and 70ā€™s pick ups? Ford had El Ranchero and Chevy El Camino. So it is El Ranchero.
  20. Orange accented steering wheel cover for XLT interior

if the OP could confirm the sizeā€¦thanks in advance.
