Why did you join this forum?

I watched this site for about 3 months when it was constrained, coud not even order. Anything was thousands over msrp. joined officially on the day I ordered. This website helped navigate the no Bediner, mudflaps, and any other random constraints day to day. I ordered on 9/17/22. It closed in days. Then in dec. this site said order Bedliner and get free cargo brackets. I did it and got a build date in two weeks. Finally rcvd 4/27/23, so far I love it and no problems except rodents ate some wires. Glad to be part of all of this

I was following the Maverick rumors before it got announced and lurked (without registering) for months. I finally signed up after I had ordered my truck in fall of 2021.

Like lots of others, I joined after ordering my Maverick in Sept 2021 and realized it was gonna be a
L O N G T I M E before I was driving my Maverick LOL. It was a fun place to learn about the truck from the lucky basti'shs that had actually gotten a Maverick and were driving it.

This is fun opening post but it's not a poll that is ganna pass any confidence testing. Few are gonna reply and say "I joined because I wanted to bitch about the problems I have had." Maybe a few will post up and say "I wanted to alert or see if others were having xxx problem".

And I'm not criticizing such posts. If I was having a bunch of problems I'd likely share such as well.

Same reason as any other vehicle forums - I have that vehicle.

Obviously people just stopping by are not going to vote heavily or engage in much else if any of the forum regardless if it's an issue that brought them here seeking answers or if they just want to lurk. But it's the same as any other vehicle forums.

I joined because I wanted to get back into driving a small truck. When I heard about the Maverick base power train, size and price I said to myself this is exactly what I am looking for and wanted to learn as much as I could about it.

I keep seeing postings passing off narrative conjecture as fact - that this forum is disproportionally populated by members who joined because their Maverick had a problem. And that all the problems reported on this site are disproportionate to the real world experience (most Maverick owners exist in automotive Nirvana). So, even though a poll on this forum isn't very scientific (the forum itself is self-selecting, and so is this poll), I thought maybe a poll asking "why did you join" might provide some basis for determining the validity of said narrative.

Hey, I'm not saying either way. It's a poll that can speak for itself. The goal is really simple - see why people joined, and hope the results cast light on the validity of the narrative we see offered up so often (that the so-called "haters" have their fingers disproportionately on the scales).

I joined when I was trying to find out when I should be hearing from ford and I found the scheduling emails posts. Then I started reading the forum more and finding out exactly how cool the maverick really is. I asked questions to extend my knowledge, and now I have been a thorn in everyone’s side since then (hence my user name )

I joined after finding the Maverick by accident on YouTube and then subsequently placing an order for one back in November of 2021 and receiving my truck in April 2022.

For many, this forum could be called Mavericks Anonymous because at some point we've all commiserated on ordering procedures, dealer issues, long waits, tracking and delivery questions, you name it. We're all one big dysfunctional family who puts the fun in dysfunction.

The real reason: Buying a first-year vehicle puts every one of us who own a 2022 Maverick into a social guinea pig experiment of finding out from other owners what works and what doesn't, and we serve as a warning or encouragement to any future owners.

I have no complaints as an EcoBoost owner...yet...at 26K miles in.

I joined because I know everything about Mavericks. As a matter of fact ,I know verything about everything . Between my brother George and myself we can answer any question you have . It doesn't need to be about Mavericks ,it can be about what ever subject you choose . We can answer it .

I joined mostly because it was like group therapy to help me through the order process, unknowns and wait.

I discovered there is awesome info and plan to use those resources to customize my Mav when I get it.

I have lofty goals of contributing what I discover for others, but being realistic and a middle age Dad ... this won't happen the way I'd like to do it.

Lastly, I try to provide helpful commentary to discussions when I can. It helps that group therapy effect. However, I can be snarky at times. In my defense, I was just raised that way . Everything had a sarcastic, back handed, kind of sting to it. So if I piss you off, just realize I'm treating you like family .

I joined in late ‘21 after I placed my order. The site has been very helpful except for the occasional self appointed ‘site police’.
