I keep seeing postings passing off narrative conjecture as fact - that this forum is disproportionally populated by members who joined because their Maverick had a problem. And that all the problems reported on this site are disproportionate to the real world experience (most Maverick owners exist in automotive Nirvana). So, even though a poll on this forum isn't very scientific (the forum itself is self-selecting, and so is this poll), I thought maybe a poll asking "why did you join" might provide some basis for determining the validity of said narrative.

Hey, I'm not saying either way. It's a poll that can speak for itself. The goal is really simple - see why people joined, and hope the results cast light on the validity of the narrative we see offered up so often (that the so-called "haters" have their fingers disproportionately on the scales).

I joined the forum after I had already made up my mind to buy a Maverick, ordered it, and was waiting for it to be delievered. I wanted to learn more about options I was unfamiliar with. Most the safety electronics.

I have had no problems since delivery, and am happy with my choice.

I've learned alot here and feel the content is valuable, even if every post is not spot on. :)

Like a lot of people I joined way before the truck was even available. I was doing everything I could at that time to stay informed with news and rumors' about the then upcoming Maverick.
I'm surprised that wasn't one of the poll options.

Joined when I spotted the first bare metal photo of the tailgate, wanted to know more.
Think it was just before placing my BS Badlands order.

Yeah same here. Heard about the Mav in June of '21 shortly before ordering became available. Went to the dealer in late June of '21 to place an order but shortly after placing my order wanted to get more info on the process.

Holy shit was that a rabbit hole to go down....haha Found this place in July and have been here ever since.

Your join date still blows my mind. You were here well before the Mav was on any ones radar.

I joined after ordering and was getting stressed after waiting 16 months, getting canceled and converted to a '23. The Maverick Club helped get me calmed down and filled the gaps left by Ford. I heard about it but was leary of the CVT. Then I found it was an eCVT and I jumped on it. Salesman told me 4 to 6 weeks for delivery.
Now I love my Mav. Thanks everyone.

Joined just after I ordered the Maverick. Was lurking unregistered before that, just after I became aware of it's existence.
same, back in late 21. I was much more active on a few Maverick Facebook groups, but then realized that forums are still vastly superior because you can accumulate knowledge. even with a search function, Facebook groups have a ton of repetitive subjects and little knowledge that builds upon prior knowledge and information sharing.

my first car forum experiences were Edmunds townhall and i-club more than 20 years ago 😄

I joined when I was trying to find out when I should be hearing from ford and I found the scheduling emails posts. Then I started reading the forum more and finding out exactly how cool the maverick really is. I asked questions to extend my knowledge, and now I have been a thorn in everyone’s side since then (hence my user name 😉 )

I joined so I could post how I got 12,000 mi on one tank in my hybrid..

And to whine about the interior plastic.

And to argue about what the "best" oil is.

More seriously, I joined in the middle of 2021 when I first heard about the Maverick. I think I was a member for about 2 weeks before I put in an order.

Very true. I've back read a lot of post. Would rather learn then post. Like listening instead of asking the same questions over and over on a forum.
