Like the upcoming Scout?Long shot:
EV drive motor for acceleration and power advantages (also offroad; 100% torque at all speeds), coupled with a "range extender" system; which is simply an integrated gasoline powered generator to charge the batteries.
I did not know about this. Now I'll have to look it up. I wouldn't mind a Scout format, if it got 40mpg. And if it's under $35k in 2025 $ value, I'd be interested (which means $40K+ value in 2026 $...this recent rapid inflation is a cruel taskmaster)Like the upcoming Scout?
ok let's all pretend we're in the room with the next Maverick cycle refresh team for a moment and they give you ONE thing on the next truck that you can change/remove or add...what would it be? 1st thing i would say is that they did good with our beloved little truck but there's always room for improvement. i don't mean your whole 'wish list' , just that ONE thing or feature that Ford should consider next, i know there's a lot more that we would all like but that's for a different thread. my biggest beef is having to reset the drive mode EVERY time i restart the truck, it's just asinine IMHO. i mean really how much would the chip or circuit that could retain the last selected drive mode add to the MSRP? i know it's only 4 quick button clicks but why not just be able to choose a driving mode you like and then go on with your life? what say you? i think we could do ourselves and Ford a great service here with our feedback as we are what i believe is the preeminent online Maverick truck community, if they pay attention to us we could actually have a impact on the next Maverick, how cool would that be?

If this wasn't a unibody I would think about making my own.A multi-flex midgate on what you can find on the Silverado EV or the old Avalanche. Would love to have that option to fold down the back seat and have a 6.5-foot bed. Would be great for camping. If you don't need it anymore just close it.
It does in my situation. YMMV, depending on how you drive, traffic, terrain and other factors. Definitely worth comparing.I did not know the slippery mode offered the best mpg, I'll try that. I've been using the eco mode.

My Mav replaced a 2013 Ford C Max. I liked the instrument cluster, menus and battery indications much more on that car. That's the thing, I've got the XLT Luxury package. Considering how much stuff is packed into the IPC, there's no excuse for a lack of system information to be made available to drivers.
And here's another thing to consider - just about every vehicle Toyota offers has a hybrid option, and it's been that way for several years now. So this isn't about price points, it's about getting the designers to realize that there's a better way to do hybrid system communication.
Slate $27,500 proposed before taxpayer funded inducements. The Scout that will be manufactured in the USA. I retired from a tier 1 supplier of parts for it. As opposed to the Slate which will be assembled in a junk mail printing plant from Asian sourced parts. I guarantee the administrator will censor this post. They don't allow facts about Slate!
