A 2011 Silverado with 235k miles that had a dash that lit up like a Xmas tree. ABS, Traction control, Check Engine, etc.
No way it was going to pass inspection.
It got 15mpg, no matter how you drove it. 40mph around town, 65mph on the hightway, or 85mph on the highway. 15mpg.

Replaced a 2019 Nissan Frontier.

As others have posted, the Maverick is better in every single category.

Better ride quality, way better mpg (19 mpg vs 38 mpg), better tech, better interior (yes, the XL interior is still better than the Frontier was), much better acceleration and handling. Everything better.

Also test drove a V6 Tacoma and it had zero balls for acceleration; was so disappointed.

So in 2020 we had now moved from Colorado to Minnesota for a few years. Our F150 tow vehicle (sold our haul camper and got a seasonal) and Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited (fun in the Rockies and weekend trips to Moab) weren't really what we wanted or needed. Prices were really good on those (cheap gas with everything shut down at the time).

Sold them both and bought a Tesla Model 3 when the price had just dropped on those, and a 2020 Kia Soul X-line as our 2nd vehicle. The Kia was a heck of a deal as the car rental places were dumping off their inventories with covid, so a new one was dirt cheap with the market flooded with 1-2 year old ones. It was perfect as a low cost 2nd vehicle other than loading up the hitch bike rack for biking trips or when we haul brush from the yard, or truck things.

I saw the Maverick its first year... hey, perfect 2nd vehicle for utility but the XL didn't have cruise. Ended up getting mine delivered a few weeks ago and love it. Traded the Kia in for it.

2019 Kia Niro it only had 12,600 miles on it. Sold it to a Buick dealer for $20,000 and netted $12,000 after loan payoff. Put into a 1 year cd till my Maverick came in. Paid off Maverick 3 months after cd matured. I was getting 56 mpg with the Niro but when I saw a hybrid truck that got 42 mpg towed 2000 lbs. It was a no brainer. Wish the bed was longer. I use my 07 Focus wagon to haul long boards with. 276,000 miles and gets 32 mpg with the 5 speed manual transmission. Still have a 06 Silverado 4x4 extended cab 8ft. bed truck. Need to sell it rusted cab corners rockers and some brake lines. Figure that! typical chevy. Told the guy at work $3000 with all parts included. It has a 5.3 with only 157k on it. He tried to low ball me with a offer of $2,000. I said no I will fix it and should be able to get $5,600. Just need to get my ass in gear and get it done.

2015 Nissan Frontier, which was a fantastic truck and still was when I traded in for the Maverick. Both have served my purposes well, but averaging nearly 10 mpg better with the Maverick!

My Maverick supplanted my 2013 Outback Limited with 225k miles. The Outback is relegated to vacation home duty, replacing its predecessor, a 2001 Isuzu Trooper. The Trooper, still in good shape, was donated to a local tech high school.

I would have bought another Outback in a heartbeat if the rumored hybrid version was on the market (supposedly now coming next year as a '26). Loved my Outback as a daily driver but wanted a hybrid when it came time to replace it.

Which brings me to my Maverick. Very pleased so far (10k miles), and the mpgs seem to keep growing.....

Trading in our 2010 Honda Ridgeline tomorrow for a 2024 Maverick Lariat 2.0T with the 4K tow package in Cactus Grey. We built it to order and have been waiting for a few months now.

Quick update: Got it home yesterday after ordering it in June.

Just waiting on tuxmats and tires now. Love it so far!

I do LS swaps on Volvos. Love the boxy 240s. Make a great sleeper with 500hp

What did you drive before the maverick?

2013 MERCEDES BENZ C250 turbo. 4 door luxury. It would get 29 city and 33mpg highway. (K&K air filter only mod). it only had 152,000 miles..(Always Mobile1 0W-40 european blend and Mann german filter) Got $8K towards my Maverick.. in September.

BUT----
I did not replace my 2002 GMC 2500HD Sierria Duramax Diesel, that I bought brand new. It gets 25mpg highway empty. It will haul a back hoe...(mileage slightly less)

I kid everyone it's a 2002 and I have only 3 payments left. I'll be buried in it. It has only 233,000 miles- barely broke in- Mobile1 15W-50 since new. WIX filters except K&N air-only aftermarket mod.

This is my 2024 Maverick LT hybrid. only factory option was Copilot 360. Considering it has everything my 2013 Mercedes had but sunroof and power seats that never moved as I live alone. . WTH... with 2244 miles on the ODO, I changed oil and filter- to Mobile1 0-W20.,, Wheels from Discount tire. $752 out the door with tax and guarantee. Spray in Bedliner $500 from Trucks ICT, Wichita, and Amazon $127 tonneau cover... I have a small cattle ranch in Kansas the Ford can handle trips to the feed store, the mercedes couldn't carry more than 4 bags of feed in the trunk. At the rear is a bolt on $25 2" hitch, a 2024 Ford Bronco Amazon return. I had to add 3/4 inch plate to take up slack in the sub bumper and drill 4 holes....So I can pull myHonda Rancher ATV or Lawn Tractors in a 5x8 trailer... The Duramax can pull my stock trailer filled with Black Angus.. Last fill up- tried 89+ octane 20% ethenol blend and got 40.45mpg combo driving (Before oil change)... In the mercedes I fill it up with 93+ octane 30% ethenol.. that 30% loves that turbo... those ethanol blends can be found here in the midwest selling for less than regular, but only at gas stations that feature it. One such is a mile away in town..
