It’s a 23, I’ve had it for about a year and half.

My Mav sat in a carport the 1st 6 moons in Honolulu, Hawaii it was hit with garbage cans and cover weight due to 50-80 mph winds flying around the open sides. Thankful and lucky that it is now in a walled garage! It does get up to 90° in there but no direct sun. I don’t leave it parked outside for over an hour so I’m hoping this doesn’t happen.

I'm thinking this has very much to do with heat build up from tonneau cover installation and associated clamps on the moulding. Does not make it acceptable however, Ford needs to mitigate this somehow. If it ends up a common occurrence.

Thats possible, especially in AZ, but other than leaving the bed cover open most of the time I can’t think of any other solution.

Off topic a bit, I lived in Port Angeles for a few years and took the ferry over to Victoria a few times a year. Beautiful city

I showed it to the service manager when I was in for an oil change. He agreed that they should be replaced under warranty. Good honest dealership.

I'm not seeing it on mine, but I have it parked in the garage most days. That said, the garage itself can get up to 130 during the heat of summer.

Mine are the same. I'm in KS. It does get hot, but my Maverick only sits outside about 3hrs, 4 days/week. I also have a tonneau -- which hides the waves.

Weird. It's almost like they were repeatedly moved from super hot to freezing, then back again. Man, if it's heat alone, Ford better "stand by for heavy rolls."

If it starts to become a widespread issue, hopefully Ford will not only replace the rails, but replace them with some made from a "new, improved" material.
Ya - just like CV drive shafts!

Uh oh - you had a cover installed from the start?

I move from morning shade to afternoon shade around lunch.
My cover is a horizontal pinch plastic (truck & cover), not vertical style (truck only).
I even redid clamps because I noticed plastic slid a bit - of course it did!
