Looks like they live in Arizona.Any idea what was the cause?
I was wondering if heat alone was doing it. If so, Ford will probably be replacing a lot of those rails.Looks like they live in Arizona.![]()
That's what I was thinking too..I was wondering if heat alone was doing it. If so, Ford will probably be replacing a lot of those rails.
Maybe a possibility! Tonneau was installed at a lower temp say less than 50-60°F, clamps are squeezing the bed rail flange and the sheet metal and the plastic is expanding more than the metal. The tight clamps are preventing the plastic from sliding more or less than the metal.. if this is true maybe trimming the plastic to not be squeezed by the clamp. Maybe loosen clamps on hot day and see if some of the waves lay flatter. Once waves develope they may not readily flatten. No idea what caused it, probably heat, but ford hasn’t offered any explanation, I’m just glad they’re replacing them. FYI, I live in Northern AZ, not nearly as hot as the Phoenix area.
What year is it and how long have you had it? Just wondering long it took to happen so I can watch mine. ThanksAny idea what was the cause?
