On plus side I bought quite a few Ford shares yesterday for $8.60 per sh. Will sell half in less than month or at $10.75 if it happens before.
Last time I bought F at about $9.50 it dropped down to nearly $4, then they suspended paying the dividend,,,,, I just could not convince myself to buy again yesterday.

I am 66. 1 speeding ticket in my life for doing 57 in a 55 when I lived in Ohio. 1 ticket for a u-turn on a side street of Richmond VA where I was 1 of 3 pulled over for making a u-turn because the NO UTURN sign was behind a bush. I accident claim when I was rear ended and my insurance did not have to pay 1 penny. 1 hail damage claim. So in 66 years not much. Credit score? 811. So why would State Farm quote me over 1800 a year on a 2024 Maverick in Virginia?
Because they can. Encompass raised my rate from $1300 to $2600

My biggie F buy was when I decided to buy Maverick in August 21 I put my cash for my xlt lux into 2000 F then when book opened placed order. Couldn't wait when F unrealistically popped to $10 more than I paid in December so I sold. Been buying a few things mainly at close or after hours on Friday's. Started buying F this time 100@$11, 10.40, 9.80, 9.20, then when the thing we can't talk about frenzied, I rolled the dice and loaded up. Hopefully the "I don't want to hold over the weekend" sellers don't own many. Will see.

My wife has a separate policy from mine because I have 4 Harleys and 2 vehicles.wawanesa does not insure harleys. She has wawanesa ins. 2 year old escalade ESV. 24 maverick awd 100/300/50 policy $1000 deductible comp $500 maverick is $328 escalade $448. 6 month policy . Clean record 50 years old no credit pay cash for everything and the escalade cost over $100,000. So California.

With State Farm, I just dropped my comprehensive deductible from $250 to $0, for $6 every 6 months, per car. This is a no-brainer.

HRG
Did the same.
Emergency roadside service is also only $2.35/6 months.

Those tickets and claims hurt your rate regardless of the severity. You are probably in the more expensive tier for State Farm auto. But i don't know how high your rates are but 150 a month ain't too bad in Texas for full coverage with all optional coverages included. But we have alot of uninsured drivers in our area.

Hello,,
I am very close on closing on a 2025 Maverick and checked with State Farm about the insurance of a 2025 Maverick XL, AWD, Hybrid. Almost fell out of my chair when I received the quote. It was originally $ 284.77 and it was then reduced to $ 212.68 which is still very very expensive.
On my current policy with 2 cars (2018 Passat and a 1990 LS400) plus two motorcycles I pay less than that - also with the same State Farm agent. Of course they sent me the typical excuse about all of the safety features cost replacement etc.

Was wondering if this is a general issue with the Maverick or if State Farm is trying to take advantage of the situation? Would be interesting to know who much you guys pay on full coverage and a $ 500.00 deductible?

Thanks,
Mario
I have AAA auto insurance. It's the BEST pricing and great service. I used to have State Farm but would never have it again. I tried Farm Bureau on my Maverick because they offer a $500 discount on Fords but it cost $100 more a month so the $500 discount fades away at 5 months of ownership!

this is per month?

I pay about $600/year.

It's actually pretty close to that for all of my cars, even my 10+ years old subaru impreza.

I know it's weird to drop this on page 10 of a thread, but there's 2 major things contributing to insurance rates, besides obvious things like mass losses in California and the southeast from fires and hurricanes.

First one is data. Insurance companies use data from cars and smartphones. They *definitely* can access it through their own branded mobile apps, so never install those, but they have other ways as well including GasBuddy.
https://www.thestreet.com/automotiv...ies-quietly-use-these-apps-to-hike-your-rates

The second one is sharing data AND pricing through 3rd parties to skirt the boundaries of collusion. The DOJ, FTC and others are looking at this aspect of it much more broadly than just insurance, rental property price fixing is one example.

I pay $555 for six months, but I guess it’s an individual thing, age, accidents, how many miles you drive.

So ticket from 1992 and another from 2000 is jacking my rates? or is it because State Farm has to pay for all those JAKE commercials, like Liberty has to pay for those stupid EMU commercials, and Progressive with Flo and Riders. I will stay with Eire which doesn't have any of those dumb mascots. I was shopping for comparisons since I bought the Maverick and it went up 400 over a 2023 Silverado Custom.
If those incidents took place that long ago then no they wont count against you.

Yes to all above including but not limited credit rating also.
