State Farm un
Hello,,
I am very close on closing on a 2025 Maverick and checked with State Farm about the insurance of a 2025 Maverick XL, AWD, Hybrid. Almost fell out of my chair when I received the quote. It was originally $ 284.77 and it was then reduced to $ 212.68 which is still very very expensive.
On my current policy with 2 cars (2018 Passat and a 1990 LS400) plus two motorcycles I pay less than that - also with the same State Farm agent. Of course they sent me the typical excuse about all of the safety features cost replacement etc.

Was wondering if this is a general issue with the Maverick or if State Farm is trying to take advantage of the situation? Would be interesting to know who much you guys pay on full coverage and a $ 500.00 deductible?

Thanks,
Mario
State farm unsuccessfully tried to rip me off. They went quiet when they found out how much hell I could actually raise.
Allstate became just another underwriter. Jacking your rates at renewal. That’s why they only offer six month policies. Makes it easier to rape you.

I’m with ā€˜Erie’
Home and auto. My rates don’t go up on a car that’s getting older.

I had a $27,000 lightening claim on my house. They even paid for restaurants because my kitchen was down.
$27,000.00 and my rates never went up.

Always go with the big boys like Erie.
They have no desire to screw you.
They Insure sky scrapers, ships, big stuff.

State Farm is the last place I’d go.

With State Farm, I just dropped my comprehensive deductible from $250 to $0, for $6 every 6 months, per car. This is a no-brainer.

We went with Progressive. Here is our coverages and cost. This $649 is our annual premium from November 2024 through November 2025. We prepaid the entire premium last November. This includes a $500 deductible on both collision and comprehensive, and $0 deductible on glass. We have a 2023 hybrid Maverick Lariat Lux FWD. We have never had an accident or comprehensive claim with any vehicle we have owned. Our state is a no-fault insurance state.

I changed to Progressive from AAA & am at $238 for 6 months with 500 deductibles for collision & comprehensive, I switched as AAA was more than double that. I have an old GMC pickup as a secondary with liability & it's only an extra $50 for 6 months. I also have a motorcycle & snowmobile with them, very reasonable too.

Louisiana is such a scam-based economy, our rates are crazy high. My Maverick's rate is only slightly more than my 9 year old Altima.

On my SF renewal notice due 4/24/25 my $100ded comp for six months is $175.29 for 2022 Maverick XLT lux MSRP about $26500. (?). $250ded collision is $228.25 for six months. These are adjusted for "make and model plan" as well as multi car and homeowners plan. The Medicare "E" plan supplement (about $355/month each for me and wife) does not enter into auto discounts (the monthly goes up annually based on age for these.). Yes it pretty much takes the lower of our two social security monthly to pay insurance, property taxes, and electrical only utilities. On plus side I bought quite a few Ford shares yesterday for $8.60 per sh. Will sell half in less than month or at $10.75 if it happens before.

I only knew 1 person that had Progressive. When a rock flew off a flatbed trailer and broke the windshield Progressive paid for it then dropped them. Other companies jacked the rates way up because they had been dropped. I checked with Progressive yesterday and their coverage was way under what I currently have. You know the old expression sometimes you get what you pay for. State farm, AAA, USAA, and Farmer Bureau were all higher than I currently have for equal coverage.
Progressive is also really pushing the electronic tattle tale. Sounds great until you have a hard braking event or they determine you speed (even if the roads you're on are that high), and then jack up your coverage as high risk.

Insurance is extremely subjective. I live in Maryland, land of the uninsured so rates are generally higher here. Rates depend on liability limits, deductibles, distance driven to work one day, is the vehicle used for pleasure or business, and of course age and record. I will say the Maverick I have is a bit higher than I thought it would be. But it isn’t crazy for this state.

I'm a rep for State Farm. The amount of information they look at to determine rates is crazy. We have been pretty pricey as of late unless you have immaculate credit and no incidents. Bundling does help as well and for any driver under 25 that has no tickets or accidents i would recommend you ask your agent about steer clear discount. It will help out for whatever vehicle the youthful driver is being rated on.

You must remember you are currently insuring an 8 and 35 year old cars. A brand new will be quite a bit more to insure. Do you have collision and comp on the old ones or just liability? Factors to consider.
