I don't care if you understand or not, others maybe will be interested in the science of it rather than whatever it is you are guessing about.
Dont act like an expert after posting a couple of links. You are guessing as well with no proof on this product making any difference.

I’m the same with my EB. Listening to the real mechanical sounds & the ESE is second only to keeping my eyes on the road.

ESE = Electronic Sound Enhancement:)
IMO the 2.0 EB doesn't sound great at WOT especially with the factory exhaust.

I never said I was an NVH expert but I have designed Hoods before, so I have lived with issues like this in my career. I merely said it was possible that it could affect vibrations, in response to your original question, "I dont see how this would affect the sound in cab." There is no way for me to prove it.

EDIT: And lets leave out the insults, OK?

Im not trying to be insulting. I like the three stooges and my comment was because at one point I thought you were clowning me with a deep dive away from this specif product and thread on a simple add on. If you design hoods thats cool might have helped to start with that. Im sorry we didnt meet on this topic but be well and Im glad we are able to share what we can on our love of mavericks.

Thanks. I'm actually a retired Ford body structures engineer of over 30 yrs, but I don't like to lead with that because it's the internet. Sometimes I get a little technical, and if you read my posts closely that's all it was, no clowning at all.

You are a Master of Polite Understatement:)

The 2.0 EB must sound like an AM radio compared to the quadraphonic stereo sound of the Ford Engines you have modified. Love when you post pics:)

Underhood insulation was standard for decades. I suppose engines have gotten smoother and quieter since then, but obviously the real reason it went away is to cut production cost.

Other than possibly reducing some sound, is there any other reason to install this? Does it improve performance or efficiency?

It redirects and focuses the sonic flow under the hood to add 5 horsepower. It also adds needed mass to improve front-wheel traction, for more efficient steering.
