Most of the owners at my dealership are well over 40. I can only think of a handful of younger truck owners. And maybe only 2 female owners.

Come on Mervin don’t tease us like that. Let’s see a pic of the SCCA car. I just helped buy my daughter a 1985 Porsche 944 …damn thing is 45 years old and it is SOOO fun to drive. She learned how to drive a standard in one day.

Looks like wheels from the eighties. Are they brass or gold? Clean car.

Yeah, the Porsche factory rims from a couple of years after this car, which would be about 87/88. They are the cup rims. We don’t really like the color. Probably gonna powder coat them a lighter brown. They’re fine if you’re a commanders fan or a USC fan. 😂😂😂

With my oldest daughter, I helped her get into a nice Civic. I wished I got her into a CR-V because the Civic is good for people moving and not much else. Young adults need utility. They may not know they need it, but they do. My other daughter was all for the Maverick. It makes buying furniture or moving apartments no big deal. She's been very happy with it. And I drove it for about a month doing stuff to it for her. I liked it so much I bought one too.

I spent many months researching to go from a full size Silverado, prior had a F-150, to a small or mid-sized truck. Ruled out Toyota ans Nissan immediately because the ride and ingress is just as bad as what I had. Narrowed down to Ridgeline (never really card for Honda although being in a couple of their plants before and impressed) and Maverick. Many of the reviews and articles I read said Ford picked the name Maverick not as a nod to the old car but to the target customer demographic. They were targeting the 25 to 35 young environmentally conscious urban or suburban dwellers. I think the buyers are much older. I personally am 66 and the first time I saw one I thought "a 4 door Ranchero finally." Just curious if I am correct in my thinking but most of the drivers I have seen are at least over 40.
THOUGHTS?
Will be sixty-five this year. I saw one on the internet in late 2021 and had to have one so I placed an order in November. Downsized from a 2001 F-150 which I loved. I took delivery Aug 2022 and continue to have fun in this great truck.

You're right, should be a Ranchero.

I’m in my mid 70’s, but purchased a new 23 XLT for my 15 year old grandson. He recently turned 16 and loves his Hybrid. We spent a year and half learning to drive in the Mav. I get it once in a while, mainly to clean it and do maintenance.

I read article that said Ford target market research found the name Ranchero to a racist name so they went with Maverick, as in the spirit not the horse, instead. Not sure how true that article is.
Maybe because they are made in Mexico????

What's racist about Ranchero? People are way too sensitive anymore...

I'm firmly within the age demographic. Moved from a '12 Nissan Frontier after the transmission died at 205K miles. I went with the Maverick because I mostly use my truck for hauling my dirt bike to trails and race events 2-3 hours from home. Wanted something I could still put my bike into the back of (trailers SUCK at events with tight parking) but would get better than the 19MPG average the Frontier got. I had been eying the Mav since they were released but couldn't justify buying a new truck when my Frontier was still working just fine. Happy I was able to get the EcoBoost AWD model. The Hybrid would have been nice for the improved fuel economy but seeing all the battery issue threads on here makes me glad I got what I did. AWD will def help with the "getting stuck in wet grass" issue I used to have to deal with when I was driving the Frontier!

I was hoping they'd come out with a SuperCab and give us an extra 1.5' in the bed.

It would be nice to be able to close the tailgate, but honestly after hauling my dirt bike on the tailgate with my frontier for the last 5 years or so I've never had a single issue with it. If I'm carrying a bunch of stuff in the bed I just make use of the little slots in the bed to run a board across to keep stuff from sliding out.
